Topic: Do conjunctions to your 5th house cusp in synastry create instant attraction?

My ascendant conjuncts someone's 5th house cusp within a degree and I'm wondering whether thats even a thing astrologers consider or look at?

It's probably their mars in your first house. Mars in the first house gives a crazyyyy attraction to the other person. Gives intense desire towards each other and it's passionate! IP: Logged |

It’s not just 1st house mars. It’s Mars Pluto opp. Venus on the nodes! Should be hot. Also, Leo mars on DC. IP: Logged |

You have more special here because your nodes are opposite, and Mars Pluto rule your NN. His NN is ruled by Venus, and you put Venus on it! It looks like something Karmic. You should help each other reaching NN. However, moon is concerning. It could be emotional coldness, unless the composite is good.IP: Logged |

It definitely feels really strong/karmic but I do see what you're saying about the emotional coldness...I do feel that at times. In the composite I think the tightest aspect for moon is an almost exact conjunction to pluto (opposition in Davison) but from what I remember all other aspects to the moon are harmonious. Also, the composite looks scattered and I hear that's a bad sign IP: Logged |

I think this is backwards. OP’s NN is in Venus with his Venus conjunct it. OP is blue the other person is red. IP: Logged |

To answer OP's question, I would say it's one reason that form an attraction. The more patterns the greater the attraction I believe. I'm a bit hesitated analyzing because both the ASC are near the next sign, I don't have any experience in that. But here's an attempt:
•Your Mars/Pluto in his 1H with Pluto aspecting his NN in 1H and Venus from his 7H
• Not only that, his 7th cusp is Aries and putting your Mars/Pluto in his 1H (house of Aries)
So there's attraction from his end
• His 7H ruler, Mars in Leo 10H matches your Sun in Cap tightly sextile Mars, which falls into his 1H so there's some linkage back to his 1H
• Your Sun also conjunct Venus which can resemble Venus in his 7th too
• Then you have your 1H ruler, Neptune part of the symbolism of his 7H trining his Venus from the 7H
Strong match with his 7th house •His Mars conjunct your DSC, that's like Venus/Mars conjunction and it's also his 7th house ruler too
•His ASC is in Libra with his ruler Venus square Uranus on IC (I see you have moon in 7H too) tightly which somewhat match your 7th ruler Sun conjunct Venus in 11th - his personality may appear attractive to you.
• Having his ASC loosely conjunct your 7H secondary, the 5th house cusp also create the attraction - I'm guessing this goes back to your original question so it's more than just the conjunction, the secondary 7H symbolism add to the attraction factor.
I do find the moon Virgo has weak interactions/symbolism with his chart So I sense there's a great deal of initial attractions between the two romantically. (I'm skimming and may make some mistakes). IP: Logged |

Hey thanks so much for all the info. I'm not familiar with things like secondary points of attraction so it was really interesting.
I know you were trying to answer my original question (which I appreciate) but I'm wondering now if this just looks like a connection of just physical attraction?
Also, what you wrote about patterns in the synastry being beneficial, did you mean connections to these attraction markers (like 7th house connections etc) or did you mean patterns like t-squares/grand crosses created in the synastry?

Particularweather1 HeyYah I was listing out why there is a strong attraction between you both. I think in the end when it comes to connection, that might have to be taken further, which I am in no knowledge of at the moment. Astrology has been complex to me because I've seen tamed synastry and the couple looks madly in love.
When I mean tame, I mean no Mars/Venus, Sun/Moon, Sun/Venus etc but I have no birth time. But Moon do play a big role in deep connection and attachment. Secondary house just means like for example if Gemini is in the 7H, we look into 3H for overlays Aries 7H cusp => 1H overlay, Cap 7H cusp => 10H. IP: Logged |
