I'm sure most people would automatically assume it to be a negative thing, but I'm looking at it a different way..

Natally, I have mars conjunct NN on my 7H cusp. Pluto rules my 7H right below the 7H cusp in the 6H.

These are my mars aspects on natal:
Mars opposite ASC
Mars sextile MC
Mars conjunct Pluto
Mars semi-sextile Venus
Mars square Saturn
Mars semi-sextile Jupiter
Mars semi-square Uranus
Mars semi-square Neptune
Mars square Chiron
Aries on my 12H cusp.

So an unaspected mars or a poorly aspected mars in synastry might just be a good thing depending on each individual's chart. I personally don't need all that excess energy from a connection because I already have so much of it on my own. If anything, I need a lack of aspects to balance the excess. Plus, most men still don't like a woman's masculine side too much so this works if you're a woman.
