Lots of hard Uranus aspects in this connection — Sun/Moon/Venus/Mars/Mercury stellium Opposite Uranus Jupiter Sextile Uranus Juno Conjunct Uranus Uranus Square Mercury Uranus Quintile Mars Uranus Octile Moon For context, both natals are very Uranian. We also have a large age gap, we are different race/ethnicity, and we generally come from very different backgrounds. We would make for a very unconventional couple. She has Sun/Venus/Jupiter Opposite Uranus, Moon Trine Uranus, Mars (chart ruler) Conjunct Uranus, Uranus Quintile Pluto, Uranus Sextile MC in natal. I have Sun/Moon/Venus/Mars/Mercury (chart ruler) Trine Uranus, Jupiter Trine Uranus, Saturn Conjunct Uranus, Uranus Octile Pluto in natal. We are both also very Saturnian and Plutonian natally. The synastry is otherwise really beautiful — lots of Pluto/Saturn (almost all harmonious aspects), lots of harmonious Sun, Moon, Venus, Mars, Jupiter aspects, 1st/5th/7th/8th/10th houses strongly activated, virtually all physical attraction aspects we could have (most are DWs), strong midpoint activation. Some opposition and squares providing chemistry, but generally lots of harmony. The Sun/Moon/Venus/Mars/Mercury stellium opposition to her Uranus in the synastry forms part of a mystic rectangle, which completes as an envelope pattern (all planets, no asteroids). At least one planet in each Uranus synastry aspect is involved in the formation of the envelope pattern. I’m hoping this brings some release of the Uranus tension. In the composite, we have a Sun/Venus/Mercury love stellium. We also have 3 yods and a kite pattern in the composite. Composite Uranus is well-aspected — it Trines a Saturn/Moon conjunction and Sextiles Pluto (forming the base of a yod that has Composite ASC as the apex). No planetary afflictions to Uranus. The connection is very Saturnian. It’s progressing slowly over the last 2 months, but mutual feelings are obviously very strong. It feels inevitable that we are headed towards a very serious, heavy relationship. I’m just not sure what to expect from all the Uranus energy — and whether our Uranian natals / non-conformist nature as a couple / well-aspected Uranus + Saturn energy in the composite is enough to deal with the synastry. This forum, and the internet, generally says these Uranus aspects mean doom for any couple. Thoughts? Any input is much appreciated! IP: Logged |

Based on all the data you've provided, yours is a unique situation, I'd say an exception to conventional wisdom. To begin with, you each have strongly Uranian charts, you're familiar with the energy, and because of this advantage, are likely equipped to handle it, although how well may be qualified by age and experience. There are differences in your backgrounds, age, and ethnicity, so Uranus speaks to that, rather than any doom scenario. Uranus in the synastry is balanced by the Moon-Saturn conjunction in the composite. There are no squares or oppositions of Uranus in the composite, which would indicate an on again, off again situation, but as you are aware, yours will be an unconventional union. You mentioned some hard aspects of Saturn so that would reveal where your challenges lie. The reality of traditional marriage or monogamy may not appeal or work for you.You didn't mention aspects to the nodes in synastry, if any. I have found that nodal contacts are often found in significant relationships. Differences in age can be attributed to Venus-Saturn in the natal, but attractions between people having a large age gap can also be attributed to or explained by the nodes in synastry, which would indicate a past life history. I don't know what you think of reincarnation, but I thought I'd mention it because it may be relevant in your case. All the best to you both. IP: Logged |

Thank you for your thoughts! My North Node (Mean) is conjunct her ASC (South Node conjunct DSC), exact. My North Node (True) is conjunct her Anti-Vertex (South Node conjunct Vertex), exact. She has Saturn closely Trine Venus in her natal (also Sun/Moon/Mars closely Trine or Sextile Saturn). My Saturn does Square her Venus (3 degrees) and her Sun (6 degrees) — those are my biggest concerns about our synastry, apart from the Uranus stuff. The rest of our Saturn aspects (there are many) are harmonious. I’m a big believer in reincarnation, and my feeling is we are deep soulmates with karma to work out in this life. IP: Logged |

The nodes conjunct the ASC-DSC axis as well as the nodes conjunct the Vertex-Anti-Vertex axis occur frequently in significant relationships, so no surprise there.Your partner's Saturn trine Venus suggests that there is a need and desire for stability, security, and longevity, and Saturn/Venus does tend to want to formalize a relationship. Having said that, you both have a strong need for freedom. It's the classic tension between Saturn and Uranus that all of us are called on to balance, but I think is a major dynamic in your relationship, one that will not likely become boring or routine. Your Saturn squares to her Sun/Venus has its challenges, but a friend of mine has the same aspects with his wife and they've been married for 20 years! I almost forgot to mention that you also have pattern completion. Here's some quotes from an astrologer who used to be on Lindaland on this subject that are noteworthy: "Most people are highly attracted to the ones who complete their geometric patterns for them, especially the closed ones. The closed geometric patterns thus formed in a synastry are not only a great attraction factor, but also a compatibility factor and create a stable, long term partnership. The more negative effect of a closed pattern formed in synastry is that the completed structure (hence the relationship) is hard to break, it is somehow unavoidable, magnetic. A significant relationship with long-term potential will most likely have at least one pattern completion by the other. The effect is stronger - and here is where the soulmate factor comes in - when the pattern completion is mutual (for example, they complete each other’s isolated trines, or they reciprocally turn their T-squares into Grand Crosses." quote: I’m a big believer in reincarnation, and my feeling is we are deep soulmates with karma to work out in this life.

Thank you so much for your input! Indeed, the pattern completion feels important—it’s like nothing I’ve ever felt before. Very magnetic. Along with Pluto Conjunct Moon (exact) and other Pluto contacts, it makes me feel completely captivated by our connection. I once completed a grand trine in a love interest’s natal chart, but I already had the grand trine in my chart, so there was no pattern completion on my side. In that situation, we also had a painful Sun/Venus Square Saturn in the Composite, and so the relationship never materialized. This connection feels much different. I’m hoping all the Jupiter contacts here will help balance out the hard Saturn aspects in the synastry: My Sun/Moon/Venus/Mars/Mercury (chart ruler) Conjunct her Jupiter My Neptune Trine her Jupiter Jupiter Trine Jupiter My Jupiter Sextile her Uranus My Jupiter Sextile her Mars (chart ruler) My Jupiter Quintile her Saturn My South Node Conjunct her Moon/Jupiter midpoint (3’ orb) My Mercury Conjunct her Sun/Jupiter midpoint (20’ orb) My ASC Conjunct her Mercury/Jupiter midpoint (1°09’ orb) My Mercury Conjunct her Venus/Jupiter midpoint (1°30’ orb) Composite Mars Conjunct her Mars/Jupiter midpoint (1’ orb) Composite Venus Conjunct her Venus/Jupiter midpoint (2’ orb) Composite Sun Conjunct her Sun/Jupiter midpoint (8’ orb) Composite Moon Conjunct Moon/Jupiter midpoint (17’ orb) IP: Logged | |
