If an aspect is separating and a sig is retro, that makes it mutually separating. Both parties are detrimental to the prediction. If the planet had been retro and goes direct before moon leaves the sign, I feel comfortable encompassing that station direct into the reading. It is up to the astrologer. I don't use real time transits. Too rich for my blood. I would only use a real time transit/aspect if it occurs before the units of time displayed in the chart. For example. If Mars and Venus are not aspecting for another 3 deg, but will aspect in a couple days before moon leaves the sign, even though the aspect will not be perfect, I'd be comfortable saying the moon is late and that it will come. I rarely see things like that, so I rarely use real time transits.
I would not cast another chart for the same question just because the planet went direct. If the moon just entered the sign, that's an indication the planet stationing direct will have impact on the question. If the ascendant is a lil early, that's another indication. If the planet is retro, moon has one foot out the door and the ascendant is tardy, the planet station direct won't matter to me unless the planet is MUCH faster than the direct planet and can act fast enough to make change. A slow-moving planet in retrograde? If moon is one of the main sigs, forget it
