I cast a chart asking if someone I know has children, but now I'm stuck whether to look at the 5th or 7th house? IP: Logged |

5th is for kids as far as I know and its the one associated with fertility.7th is partnership and marriage.IP: Logged |

Usually you are the querrent, so you are the first house, and it depends on who the person is to you, a lover? Seventh house, a friend? 11th house, co worker? 6th house. You just decide. hope that helped. IP: Logged |

His role has changed over the years. Now I would consider him someone I know, definitely not a lover and not really a friend anymore soo.....Here's the chart. I don't need a super reading or anything, I just habitually use the 7th house and now it doesn't fit, really.  IP: Logged |

Hi, Hanna! Sometimes things are not so clear, I agree. Yes, you are 1st house. If you are asking about another, then I also use 7th house. Children can show up as: 1. Planets in the quesited's house (empty in the chart you posted)
2. Their derivative 5th house ruler (Mercury here) OR 3. Planets under his rulership if they are minors of age and he is supporting them. It could be Saturn in this case.
So, who do you choose, Saturn or Mercury? It could be both, really. Mercury I would use for the *IF* question much more, in which case I would say no, he doesn't have kids. Mercury is combust but what makes me more confident is that Mercury is intercepted. Interception is a funny thing in horary, I asked questions about pregnancies and paternity and when the child's significator was intercepted, either the woman miscarried or she lied about being pregnant. An intercepted planet is something that could exist in theory but will not exist in practice.
If we go with Saturn, I would say yes, he has one kid that lives with his mom and he visits occasionally, he probably was at the time of the question because both Mars and Saturn are in the quesited's derivative 7th and applying to conjunct.

You have to first tell who that someone is. If that person is your:Parents - 4th house Neighbour/Sibling - 3rd house Boss/Authority - 10th house Teacher - 9th house Friend - 11th house Anyone else - 7th house Then you look at the turned chart according to that house, and look at the 5th house from the house of that person. That's how you can find out. You then look at the ruler of the sign, its aspects, etc. Also look at the moon. ------------------
