Two questions in particular, I'm wondering what it means that the Sun is trining the moon and that Saturn is trining the ascendant?

Well according to the chart, you're represented by Sun (ruler of Ascendant) and also Moon. Their relationship in eachother here would perhaps means that you and your emotions (moon) are in sync - that's my assumption assumption.

Don't look at Saturn's relationship to the Ascendant itself. Look at the relationship between Saturn and the Ascendant ruler, which is Sun. They are connected by opposition, but are separating.

With that said... As well as this chart having an early ascendant, you haven't used the right house system. Regiomantanus is used in the forum, not Placidus.
