I am applying for an undergraduate research award during the summer. This award is for students so I thought I should use 1st and 9th houses as significators of the querent and quesited. Looking at the chart, they seem to aspect (sextile though), but the moon and quesited are separating (square). I expect the results to come in a week or two. Background: My motivation to apply for this research job is to help a friend financially. Also, this is good to put on my resume. The job itself is scaring me a little because it involves studying animals (mice -- I'm so afraid of them!!). Will I get this award? Is this a YES or a NO? Thank you in advance. IP: Logged |

I'm not sure I'd use 9th actually. It's a logical choice but if you're asking about an award it sort of has to do with status and career...which made me look at 10th. But your odds look better using the 9th because Mars and Jupiter are applying to each other whereas nothing is aspecting Saturn.IP: Logged |

I'm only a beginner so I'm learning so don't my question as me correcting you or trying to correct you in any way, i'm asking to understand: if I were too look at the chart, I'd assume Saturn is squaring Jupiter (ruler of 9th), which would make me think no? Especially since Saturn is in it's detriment or fall in Saggi. (I hope I'm wrong, OP, good luck and I hope you get it!) why might the way I first looked at it be wrong? IP: Logged |

Not at all cc, I can gather tone over the internet pretty well. You're not completely wrong in thinking that, you're just missing a component. You have Saturn (the status and prestige of getting an award) and Jupiter (the school) but are missing the recipient aka the ASC. Saturn not aspecting the ASC or the Moon though AND squaring Jupiter may point to a "no" or a strong delay in receiving the award (can this position be applied for again in some time?) IP: Logged |

Saturn is aspecting the Ascendant but in a separating trine. I wonder what that could mean for her... IP: Logged |

Hm. In this instance I'd say it represented the work already put in. However I have also learned Saturn on the DSC means "no", and Saturn in the first means "no" (according to strict horary guidelines if you follow them) so we'll see.IP: Logged |
