Can I choose to make a horay chart, if I already know that the configuration for a precise moment will be favorable for what I desire?
Ex. Knowing a priori that at a specific time the As and the Ds will be in a certain sign, making great aspects and mutual receptions - would it be considered valid, if I then made a horary out of it, asking: "will this guy and I have a relationship?".

If you're into elective astrology, you know that you can create your chart for an event, so that when the event happens the configuration will be favorable for whatever your desire is. I can make a first time meeting chart before the meeting happens, so that the planets will be positioned in a favorable way at the time of the event. My question is: could you do the same, when it comes to horary? What's the issue with doing that?

No because it's no longer a horary! You can't play with it like that. You could elect a chart to meet at a favourable time but you can't then turn the question around to suit you.

The horary is for the time a question you have thought deeply about is asked. Manipulating the chart before asking the question wouldn't work. The heavens just don't work like that.

I wonder if a horary chart describes a pre-existing reality that would happen anyway, or if it can determine reality only when I actively decide to search for an answer.

If I choose not to look for the answer, would that answer "happen" anyway? Since a specific reality (a specific answer) is based on the time you decide to create a horary chart, if you decide not to create it, then every potential scenario remains possible.

So I was thinking that maybe - if it's true that reality is determined by one's choice to find THE answer - you could choose what's the best time to actively search for an answer. That would be like applying elective astrology principles to horary charts.

What do you think? Is a specific reality pre-determined anyway?

The chart describes what is happening right at the moment you asked the question to include what may have led up to the question asked by any separating aspects. All the chart does is show you what is occuring NOW and what will happen if you CHOOSE to do nothing about it. You have free will to do what you want, the chart isn't written in stone. If you want to know what is up a head in your life then as I have said before get your natal chart looked at, preferably by a traditional or Hellentic astrologer as those systems will tell you if you are going to marry and how many times, have children etc.

There are many schools of thought on what is pre-determined and what isn't. If you look into manifesting (Neville Goddard) then no one has free will everything comes from within you, so if you have the belief that you always get cheated on or always get left then you will. If you believe you always get what you want and have secure and stable relationships - then you will. All the information you receive from a horary chart or tarot cards or any other form of divination comes from your subconscious - you are creating it.

I think to a certain degree that some things are very much fated and will happen one way or the other no matter what you do and there are other things that you have a chance to change, hence a horary will only show you what is promised in your birth chart.

You can create an event chart to come up with a time to write or approach someone for the best outcome but they're not that easy to do as you'll only get as near as a perfect time and it still might not work.

I don't think what you are proposing would work but there is nothing stopping you from experimenting. The Universe is much smarter than man who thinks he knows it all - if this worked I dare say it would be known by now!
