And, as usual - I'm the naysayer.

I'm not entirely sure that my 12H Venus represents my *masculine* ideal. (Mars in Sag; yet again, 9H'er here - Taurus, in my case.)

OH.

:foreheadslap:

... something-something about it being conjunct (2.5*) and parallel a little known asteroid known as 6735 Madhatter.

So, nevermind then.

I suppose that's a 'secondary' type which has become increasingly important as I've aged? I wonder why.

Honestly, I'd say 'the other type' is snarky, wise-cracking, charismatic - and rather 'Martian'. Really. More Aries than straight Sag. I've yet to find out why, though.

Hi Ibringyouasong,

Here’s how you figure out what your secondary Venus and Mars are…

Your Venus is in Gemini.

Gemini rules the 3rd house.

So… Your secondary Venus is the 3rd house.

In your case, the 3rd house has Cancer on the cusp and is ruled by the Moon in Gemini in the 1st house. You’d look at this symbolism for more information on your personal notions of femininity, and what you consider attractive/appropriate behavior on women.

Your Mars is in Cancer.

Cancer rules the 4th house.

So… Your secondary Mars is the 4th house.

In your case, the 4th house has Leo on the cusp and is ruled by the Sun in Gemini in the 1st house. You’d look at this symbolism for more information on your personal notions of masculinity, and what you consider attractive/appropriate behaviour on men. There are elements of Leo and Gemini added to your ideal here.

I’ll have to look at your Dsc ect, later on. I’ll do a post for it in the next couple of days so check back.

My Mars is in Gemini, and Leo rules my third house. Juno is also in there. I don't really like talkative men, I prefer them to communicate in little ways, or actions vs. words. But I think these particular placements emphasize how men already act - proud and logical (not all, just some, I know lol). In theory, I would get excited by a guy who's boastful and cheeky.

Hmmm...well, I might have to check out that symbolism on feminine ideals.

My male ideal has elements of Gemini and Leo...hmmmm. Well, I do like men who are smart, witty, and good conversationalists. But, I also appreciate confidence, strength of character, and dare I say, someone who can be "dominant." *blush* Both of my parents are Leo's (divorced), and being around my dad, I definitely would not be attracted to someone who shares all the negative traits that he has as a Leo. My mom can drive me nuts on any day of the week. lol.

I just hope that with Leo on the 4th house cusp, a Virgo Eros and Juno, that I will not be overly critical of my husband and children - or overbearing.

Also, thank you so much for getting back to me so quickly! And I will definitely be on the lookout for any information you may post in the future. I myself posted a thread on here about Descendants and attraction. It's on the 'Astrology for Beginners' side of the fence. lol.

Mars in Aries.
Gemini first house.
LOL nope.
Gemini is not my masculine ideal.

More like Pisces.

Venus in Gemini
3rd house cancer.

Nope I'd say Aries is my feminine ideal.

^ Lol Kerosene, why d'you have to be against all others, hm?

Well, well.
Let's see.

I think there's some truth to it.
Sag / Libra / Gemini sound like a super awesome mix, to me. Both in women and in men.

Oh, but it works for me! Mars in Virgo --> 6th house --> Pisces. Yup, yup, love them. Sweet, gentle, compassionate, adapts easily, sensitive.

Then again, I'm dreamy and a helpless romantic myself. ^ In synastry, I actually like 12th house overlays a lot, very deep, you naturally get each other. Neptune's all over my chart, so I think I'd be on their level.

Hi Ibringyouasong, I’m finally getting back to this thread with your questions.

Okay so your Dsc is Scorpio, ruled by Pluto also in Scorpio in the 6th house, and co-ruled by Mars in Cancer in the 3rd house (I look at the traditional rulers a co-ruler of that sign, they‘re always interesting to look at)… Yes, this does indicate that you are drawn to a watery partner with a dominant Scorpio, Pluto or 8th house influence in their chart, and perhaps some Cancer/Moon/4th house influences as well. This also indicates that you want a partner that is sensitive, in touch with their emotions, insightful, and who really CARES in relationships.

With Pluto in the 6th house and Mars in the 3rd house, perhaps issues of helpfulness and communication will feature strongly in your relationships.

In our natal charts the 5th, 7th, and 8th houses describe what were attracted to in others in different parts of the relationship.

From an astrological perspective, the 5th house is the ROMANCE/COURTSHIP period of the relationship, where we fall in love, and observe how special and unique the other person is… In synastry it show who is romantically exciting to you, who impresses you, and who is the ’Apple of our Eye’. This house is the one in charge of romantic sparks, infatuation, adoration, flirting and people who make an ‘epic’ impression on us.

The 7th house is the MARRIAGE/COMMITMENT period of the relationship, where we relate as individuals, exchange appreciation, and make agreements… In synastry it shows who gives you feelings of sweet affection, warmth, established acceptance, and completion…. As if they offer you what you ‘need’ in a partner. People who match the symbolism of this house have the ability to charm you and make you go soft (the 7th house is a Venus) because of how much you like them.

And the 8th house is the CONSUMATION/MERGING OF RESCOURCES period of the relationship, where after the being ‘united as one‘ officially, we become interdependent on each other through the sharing of ourselves and our stuff…In synastry it shows who attracts you in an intriguing, magnetic type of way… Here you want to figure the other person out, and merge with them intimately. This house is where we share ourselves, and what we have to offer, with another physically, emotionally, and financially… to the point where our lives are inextricably intertwined.

When we have synastry with others involving these houses, or the rulers of these houses attraction to them can develop, and the flavor of that attraction is determined by which these houses are most active in the synastry.

Looking at your 5th house you have Virgo on the Cusp of the 5th ruled by Mercury in Taurus in 1st house… Because of this Virgo-like characteristics are quite fascinating and attractive to you, and Taurus may have the same effect on you as well. With the 5th house ruler in the 1st house you may also appreciate a distinctive person who knows who they are, and what they want, and what they’re about. Someone who has a strong sense of identity.

Your mentioned that you also have Juno and Eros in Virgo. I have noticed that the asteroids Psyche, Eros, and Juno are quite active in attraction. Planets refer to huge life areas, while asteroids seem to refer to little details. These asteroids do seem to add details as to what we find attractive.

Juno is said to relate to committed relationships and the nature of our spouse. Juno is like an accessory to our 7th house (if our 7th house were an outfit), it shows extra details about what we’d like. With Juno in Virgo, a helpful and organized spouse with a sharp mind would be appreciated. I tend to think of Eros and Psyche as accessories to Mars and Venus… Eros to Mars, and Psyche to Venus… They show extra details about what we’re attracted to and find exciting.

On your 8th house you have Sagittarius on the cusp ruled by Jupiter in Gemini in the 1st house. In your private life with a partner you appreciate someone who can be upbeat, direct and communicative with you. Your also have Uranus in Capricorn, and Saturn conjunct Neptune in Capricorn by 1 degree in this house. Uranus is about innovation, open mindedness, and having respect for the other person’s individuality. And the Saturn/Neptune conjunction is about combining responsibility and dependability with compassion, and sentiment for the other person. In the 8th house area you’d appreciate a person who can offer you a combination of all the above.

This is especially so in your case because, just like there is a secondary Venus and Mars by house, I also work with the secondary 7th house.

It works like this…. Your Dsc is Scorpio.

Scorpio rules the 8th house.

So the 8th house is also your secondary 7th house.

Your can actually do this with any house in your chart, but the angler houses some to have the most powerful impact in this way.

In your chart the 7th and the 8th houses are energetically linked, and in a sense they ‘act as one‘. If your partner doesn’t have placements activating your 7th house, then they’re sure to have something activating the 8th house.

Hi there! Wow, been a while. Sorry I haven't gotten back to you sooner! My grandfather, unfortunately, had an accident (88 with a replacement hip - not good) and we (my mom and I) have been running around like crazy trying to be with him at the hospital, now he's at rehab, and crazy work hours (Black Friday was a nightmare).

Okay so...*reads your post*; ah, okay, I see what you're saying here.

And it's definitely true that for the most part, I am HIGHLY drawn to Scorpio types. I mean, my favorite band of all time - "The Eagles" - is primarily composed of nothing but Scorpios! Along with the other three/fourths of people that surround my life and my dog. And even some of my dead relatives. lol. I always feel like I've got more depth than a Gemini should have - or perhaps, more than what we're characterized as having. I mean, my grandfather is a Gemini and he married my grandmother, who was in fact a Pieces. But his natal chart was very watery for an air sign, and according to astro.com's take, I'm a Pluto dominate person; so having depth and being attracted to depth is in my nature.

Hmmm...Virgo and Taurean traits. To tell you the truth, having a Juno in Virgo is kind of freaking me out. lol. I hear all the time how it makes one critical of their partners or holds them up to ridiculous standards because they live in their heads (sort of like a Gemini, but more hardcore). But definitely I would be highly attracted to someone who had that confidence in them to know what they want and to go over after it. For them to be strong enough to know who they are and not compromise their identity for anything shallow is also another plus.

I'm someone who's not much of a risk taker, so someone who's got a touch of Sagittarius risk-taking in them - or is deep, philosophical, and adventuresome - would also be a huge check.

With my Mars in Cancer, I know I would be mostly physically attracted to the masculine guy who can protect his lady - physically and emotionally. Which is also true. lol.

I went through writing a whole list of characteristics on another post of what I find attractive/unattractive in a man as a Mars in Cancer woman. In reading what you wrote and going over what I wrote a while back, it's like being hit on the nail - twice!

Sorry, again, for making you wait so long. I swear, it wasn't intentional. I'm just finally getting a little break to get back to you before the world comes swinging back into focus. I may also have a few questions in the future, but I'll get back to you on that.

But here's one for a future reference:

What does it mean to have Psyche in Aquarius?
