When it comes to Vedic astrology, it always seems to be on point when predicting the appearance of someone's spouse/mate. By looking at the planet(s) in the 7H or ruler of the 7H, it seems you can find exactly what your spouse will look like! Here's some examples:

quote:
Powerful Sun's occupation, association or ownership
of 7th house gives a spouse, predominate among
gathering, having athletic built, neither long nor
short height, open face, broad chest and shoulders,
curly hairs, golden hue, straight nose, reddish eyes
and narrow waist. Afflicted Sun yields diseased
spouse, rash in behavior, baldness, poor immune system
and week eyesight.

Kate Moss has Sun in 7H
Spouse: Jamie Hince

quote:
If there is an influence of strong Moon then spouse
will have a charming looking, fair complexion, round
face, soft body, sleepy eyes and be innocent in
appearance. Weak Moon may give a spouse having
childdish attitude, roly-poly body, fickle mindedness,
bad digestion and menstruation problem.

Carrie Underwood has Moon in 7H
Spouse: Mike Fisher

quote:
If a robust Mars is either lord of 7th or influence
7L/Karaka then spouse will have well-developed body,
sharp, reddish and masculine look and obviously very
confident. Male of positive Marsian features are
ranked hottest and dashing. Therefore females having
such a Mars in their chart generally enjoy their
company. But afflicted Mars gives a spouse having
cruel look, marks of cut, pimples, or chicken pox on
his/her body.

Lisa Bonet has Mars in 7H and 7H lord
Spouse: Jason Momoa

quote:
When Mercury is somewhat involved in above
situation. Then spouse will appear much younger than
his/her age. He/She will be slim and decent in look,
often medium/short in height and normal in complexion;
nice skin, dressing whats in vogue very well,
beautiful hands and a costly watch in wrist. If your
spous is Mercurian then you might firsly met him/her
in a bus/metro during commuting, or in library while
reading or during chatting on net. Dual minded and
flirt even fruad when Mercury is afflicted.

Whitney Houston had Mercury in 7H
Ex-Spouse: Bobby Brown

quote:
Jupiter yields a spouse majestic in appearance,
posseses a balanced body, confident and deep voice,
round big head, large ears and long hands. Somewhat
pale in complexion. He/She will be well mannered in
attitude and value-oriented. You'll hardly find
him/her in new-fashioned clothes and jewellery, unless
it turns widely accepted as they often follow
conventional manners. Jupiter's influence also
restrict one to make a love-marriage without wishes of
parents and existing customs.

Victoria Beckham has Jupiter in 7H
Spouse: David Beckham

Venus is the barometer of beauty and alluring
gesture. Its influence promises a spouse having
attractive, charming and sexy look especially in male
charts. Fair complexion, appealing eyes and red lips;
wearing costly jewellery and nicely made-up. Strong
Venus in males chart ensures a wife having perfect
feminine feature. Weak Venus influence gives fatty
body, very oval face, high sugar and thin voice.

Gisele Bündchen has Venus in 7H
Spouse: Tom Brady

But don`t forget to your Sidereal zodiac for this.

In my tropical chart I have Gemini in 7th house, with Mercury in Sagittarius.

In sidereal it is Taurus, with Venus in Sagittarius. (Well can`t evade this Sag-influence now, can I? ).

And since the Navamsa is the marriage chart in vedic astrology, do we consider it as well?

These Vedic cameos are hilarious and quite silly. Some of these internet sites are perhaps written by fake astrologers out to make a quick buck.

Vedic astrology is a very old branch of astrology, and there is really no need to talk down on it.

I think most of the issues around Vedic astrology stems from most people not understanding that it is different from Western but trying to mix it all up. And of course the fact that most Vedic sites` interpretations are very gloomy, middle age and fatalistic.

Now the fatalism is a part of Vedic astrology, it is after all the art of astrology with the emphasis on prediction and decisionmaking (through astrology), instead of the individualistic psychological approach of Western astrology.

However, the middle-age interpretation could and should be a bit modernized (though one has to be careful, to not modernize it to the point, that it stops being Vedic astrology).

But most of all using Vedic while applying our WEstern interpretations makes no sense at all, yet it is what I see almost everyone do. If that does not yield valid results, I am not really surprised. How could it?

EDIT:
As for "fake astrologers trying to make a buck", well there are a LOT of them out there, it`s not limited to a particular branch of astrology though.

Oops, I should have explained!

I have the utmost respect for Vedic astrology. And know some very good astrologers. I know little of it because the complexity defeated me. That doesn't, of course, stop me from consulting Vedic astrologers, which I do in person whenever I'm in India.

Ceri, good to see you take exception to a short sighted, very possibly a racist comment.

Ok, good, I really misunderstood you there then.

It just annoys me how easily some people (not you!) discredit certain branches of astrology (or anything else) on the basis of, well, actually a certain absence of knowledge.

having said that my parents should never have gotten married, given the matchmaking score according to VEdic.
But event hat is just the tip of an iceberg.

Vedic fascinates me, and I occasionally return to it, but somehow it`s probably simply going over my head, too.

There are interesting things in all "astrologies" ...Vedic needs a major makeover however...one cannot but notice how the traditional Vedic interpretations are focused on getting/being rich and marrying a good (submissive) wife and a good (rich) husband.

For example, my spouse based on sidereal has a "costly watch on his wrist" Lucky me!

But Western astrology needs its own makeover too

I seem to have loved you in numberless forms...

I'm a newbie in Vedic astrology and a bit confused...

In Western astrology:
My 7th house is in Virgo and Mars is placed there in Libra. The ruler of my 7th house (Mercury) is in the 12th house (cusp starts in Capricorn but Mercury is in Aquarius).

In Vedic astrology:
My 7th house is in Leo, I have no planet in there and his ruler (Sun) is in 12th house in Capricorn.

Should I consider that my husband will be a Capricorn/Saturnian/Capricorn traits? Is there another rule I should check? I'm not sure if I get it, because I wanna learn to read vedic too. I also checked my 9th harmonic, I read that is the same with the South Indian chart and that it shows marriage and with whom you end up in your life. Any help would be appreciated.

Your hubby will be a mixture of your 7th house sign, the sign and house placement of your 7th lord, as well as the sign and house placement of your Venus (love/marriage) and Jupiter (husband).

So only basing it off the info you've given here, he will have Leo/Pisces/Capricorn-like traits. Not necessarily sign wise, but the energy symbolism will definitely be shown somehow in his chart.

Check Venus & Jupiter for further clues.

Also check the Darakarka, which is the planet with the lowest degree in your chart (closest to 0°00). This will show the personality of your spouse. Only check the 7 main planets, don't look at Uranus, Neptune, Pluto, or the Nodes.
