Hi hannaramma,

Yes I've noticed that the physical characteristics of one's ASC Nakshatra usually doesn't fit them. This is where I feel the Nakshatra's lord might come into play, the planet that's ruling your ASC Nakshatra.

My ASC Nakshatra is Pushya (Cancer ASC), but most of its physical description doesn't fit me, apart from having an oval face shape and delicate/sensitive skin. The rest says I'm supposed to have a short and stout body that's egg-shaped, whereas I'm tall and skinny with an hourglass figure.

Angelina Jolie actually has the same ASC Nakshatra as me and it obviously doesn't fit her looks either.

But Saturn is the planet that rules Pushya and I can see how that influences me (and Angelina).
My Saturn is in Aquarius in 8th. I've been told I look older for my age because on the outside I come off as mature, serious, calm, composed and formal in public, but I'm not :P I have the mind of a 5 year old lol (Leo Sun/Gemini Moon)

Saturn is also in mutual aspect with my Sun in Leo in 2nd house. And like you, I'm also into makeup, beauty, fashion and aesthetics (I'm a makeup artist btw )

There's also this thing called the Arudha Lagna, which is known as the image the world has of you. Mine's in Taurus and I think this could be a major contributing factor too to how one looks.

A makeup artist? I'm jealous! I wanna be one. I applied but all I have is hotel experience so understandably I didn't get interviewed haha.

i relate more with my moon nakshatra which is Krittika.
the lord simply means the ruling planet of a sign. eg. lord of pisces is jupiter.

most vedic charts give your a list of your nakshatras.

Pushya is the name of the Nakshatra (mini-constellation) inside Cancer, spanning from 3°21 Cancer to 16°40 Cancer. And Saturn is the lord of Pushya.
The Vedic term for Cancer though is Karaka.

I'm actually learning Jyotish from Kapiel Raaj's books and videos (KRS on youtube).

As for the nakshatras and their descriptions, I just found them through random google searching like "Pushya Nakshatra characteristics". I was trying to to see how accurate my birth time was lol. Then I got curious as to why most of it didn't fit for me, physically, and noticed it usually was off for others as well. Then I noticed the Nakshatra lord and it started to make more sense.

Ah yes, they always want experience eh I understand how annoying it can be. You still can get in if you really want to! But I'd suggest starting off with doing a makeup course on the side, if you can find the time, so you have proof of training. It's a good foundation to have.

How I got in was I did a 1 year course in global makeup artistry in college (consisting of everything from beauty makeup to high fashion to airbrushing, special effects & prosthetics). After I got my diploma, I then volunteered at bunch of makeup counters such as Sephora, Dior, Shu Uemura, Clinique, Nars, etc, as well as collaborated with friends/other students on photoshoots, fashion shows, TV/film projects, all the while I built up my portfolio and did my own independent makeup business at home.
It helps to have connections with others studying in a similar field (art, entertainment, music, etc) as you can collaborate with one another!

Your ascendant doesn't have Nakshatra. You find Nakshatra as per where your moon sits and this defines your quality not your ascendant Nakshatra. There are 27 Nakshatras in all.

Your characteristics are defined by the Nakshatra you fall in.

Each Nakshatra is divided in 4 parts so all in all there are 27*4 Nakshttra combination one could fall in example for Nakshatra 'Pushya' one could be Pushya part1, Pushya part2, Pushya part3, Pushya part 4 and similarly for every nakshatra.
