If any of you are familiar with Western astrology or even slightly versed in Indian astrology, the UPAPADA also seen in charts as "UL", is basically a divisional chart of the 12'th house. Many beginners and even advanced astrologers know about the 12th house. What the UPAPADA Lagna basically does is open up the 12th house and pinpoints exactly where you are spending your energy. It is also the chart of your marriage and spouse. Let's say you meet potential spouse in the future, this person will probably have the characteristics and trine placements in their chart based on your UPAPADA placements. The 1st house of UL is the physical appearance of your spouse.
The 2nd house of UL is his family lineage, and also categorized as the house or lord which will either make or break the first marriage along with the 8th house since it rules longevity.
The 7th house is likely where you will meet your spouse. Check to see which planets you have in these houses & if you don't have any planets occupying these houses look at the LORDS. How to find my UPAPADA Lagna/UL? Look at the 12th house and check which planet rules the sign occupying the 12th house. If it's Venus, count from the 12th house starting 1 all the way up to Venus. Once you count how many places it is away from its lord, count the same amount of times onward from Venus. This is your UPAPADA Lagna.
THE RULES --
If the UL is sitting in 1st of the 12th or 7th from it count 10 MORE places onward. Note- I share this information for my love of astrology and the community's love for astrology. I hold no secrets and just wish to share sincerely what I've learned myself

Thanks so much for sharing. I love the concept of the 12th house revealing so much about a person including their partner. I read one really great article on this. I'll share when I can. Thank you again. ------------------

As you can see Mercury is a major player in my chart. Along with being my Atmakarka, it is also my Upapada. That makes Leo my UL, right? Virgo is the second house representing family. Aquarius is the 7th house representing where we might have met...UnderworldGlory what would you say about my first husband, his family, and how we met? Can you see my second husband?
