SO I was wondering what is everyone's view about debilitated planets in certain houses? Do you always see it as a bad thing?

I personally feel debilitated planets depend on the house...so say it was in a house that is considered a negative house...that the debilitated planet (weak) would show the negative effects of that house would not be as bad as if there was an exalted planet in the position.

But, I am still learning. So I be appreciative to hear everyone's view on such things.

I don't always see it as a bad thing. In fact I often find that debilitated planets can shine well in the 12th house for example. The 12th house is the house of loss and considered a negative house, but I often see that if a negative planet is there, the 12th house negates all the negative effects of that planet and leaves only positive.

It's not easy to find famous people who have a poor 11th house lord for example, because the 11th house rules over fans, allies and friends. Therefore it has influence over fame/popularity. George Clooney is insanely popular/famous and his 11th lord is debilitated- but it's trapped in the 12th house. So it's debilitated effects are not manifested in his material life.

By the way- all planets even when debilitated have positive traits to them. It's only a matter of ratio. When a planet is exalted, it has way more positive traits then negative. While a debilitated planet has way more negative traits than positive... But neither is only one or the other. For example: Someone with debilitated Mars can often have trouble being direct or courageous, but they can often have better access to their feminine side and can have a strong bond with their country and their mothers.

Those with debilitated moon often have trouble with relationships and their emotions, but they tend to make very good detectives as they can see things others around them miss.

Those with debilitated Mercury often have trouble thinking in a linear or clear headed way, but when well harnessed this can make an individual who thinks "outside the box" and can come up with brilliant conclusions by doing this. Albert Einstein had debilitated mercury. If you read about him you'll see he did not think problems through in a very direct or linear fashion at all. He often allowed himself to drift in confusion and that's when the solution would come to him.

IMO Debilitated moon is the worst to have because it's the most difficult to remedy. The moon is the most important planet in Vedic astrology because it rules over our entire perception of life. But people with debilitated moons can often see through BS that others tend to miss. This trait doesn't necessarily make their lives easier though. Sometimes ignorance is bliss.

there is a concept of neech bhang, ( cancellation of debility )

this can give great results but after some negative event

there are 4 ways a planet cant have neech bhanga( there are some additional ways - you can google them, but these are the 4 most common ones )

if that debilitated planet is conjunct the planet lording the sign of exaltation of that debilitated planet

if that debilitated planet is conjunct the planet lording the sign of debilitation of that debilitated planet, so basically if the debilitated planet is conjunct its dispositor

if the debilitated planet is conjunct the planet which gets exalted in that same sign
if the debilitated planet is exalted in navamsa

my sister has 4 debilitated planets in her birth chart, she has a venus neech bhang as venus is exalted in navamsa, she is doing extremely well for herself financially compared to others around her in our family, but her good earnings started only after her marriage failed miserably

the true strength of a planet is to be judged after seeing its navamsa position, navamsa position can better the rasi position
