Hi, new to Vedic here. How do I read a navamsa chart? Do I read it just like a birth chart? Is it important to look at the two charts together? When looking to see how you'll experience a dasha/subdasha based on strengths of planets/houses do you look at both charts?

(Edit: this is my own chart)

Navamansa is generally used to describe the second half of your life, after marriage or 30-35 years. You may look at the navamansa chart along with the natal chart. What navamansa does is tell the strength of the planet by how is acts out in your natal chart. Like we have atmakarka (planet with highest degree) and amatyakaraka (planet with second highest degree), we check their strength in navamansa and determine how the planets will play out in natal chart.

Navamansa is the 9th house opened in a surgical manner telling you the power or weakness of the planet you are comparing.

Genrally, the both charts are not looked together along-with but if referring to the second half of your life, it's advisable to look at both together.
