Dosh Samya measures the extent to which the doshas in the 2 charts are balanced. Supposedly, closer the dosham levels, lower the chance of disturbances, separations in the relationship. When I say simplistic I mean that plain online calculator can’t take account situations when some effects are overruled etc. Things that astrology can determine when looking charts simultaneously. The points system for vedic matching are not necessarily taken at face value. It's not as simple as the higher the points the better. You can just as easily do better with someone whom you have 20 points with than you can with someone whom you have 33 points with.In the vedic matching system sexual compatibility for example is not considered that important compared to other things. This is because traditionally in india marriages were arranged between families and it was more about how well both partners performed their duties to each other than anything else. In india, marriage came first- then love. (and often this is still the case). But in today's world and in the west where many people do not marry the person they lose their virginity to and where grass is greener syndrome is prevalent- sexual compatibiity is much more important.
