my hours are 24/7...never ending! i do get a short break after 9pm, about, when my 1 year old goes to sleep. that is the time i try to use for chores and financial scheduling, but i usually end up reading online, just for a breather.my son will awaken a few hours later to nurse, doing so every few hours all night long. he awakes around 6am, fully charged and ready to go. i try to fit in housecleaning and other chores during the day, but i'm not always so successful in this. i try to make everything interesting for baby. he's at a stage right now where he wants to be with me constantly, and is very sad at this very moment because i'm at the computer and not with him. he nurses a lot during the day too. so we are always busy! diaper duty calls....later. p.s. i do hope to start a home-business soon -- any tips on how to do so without neglecting my little one i would very much appreciate....especially as we plan to homeschool! I make my own hours. It is all about getting the project finished, not about how long it takes or when I do it.I am an Archaeologist, but at the moment I am researching, writing, editing, and helping produce documentary television programs. I have recently been writing some fiction as well. I still dig on occasion, but only on projects that fit into my travel/writing schedule and that interest me. I also volunteer quite a bit of time helping museums, historic sites, and senior citizens. How do I allocate time for chores or fun? I mostly just do things when the mood strikes me. My son is grown and my husband-type person does about half the household chores, so I don't have to spend much time on that...but I DO take plenty of time to relax, read, meditate, do yoga, stroll on the beach, chat with friends, etc. Non-structured time is very important to me. What about you, Aphrodite? You posed the questions, but did not answer them for yourself. IP: Logged |

Greetings All,Thanks for the replies! I hope more people will post. Regularly, on Mondays through Friday, I wake up at 3:55 am and spend half an hour getting reading for work. I leave the apartment at 4:30 am to catch a bus downtown to begin work at 5:10 am for a brokerage house. The day is spent monitoring how certain stocks are trading, researching industry products and trends, making calls, financial modeling and listening to presentations. Sometimes traveling is involved to visit companies. I am *hoping* that I get to fly to NYC in June for a presentation. We shall see. The time is usually 4:30 to 5:00 pm by the time I get home. I chat with Willard, my cat and give him lots of affection while making dinner. Then I clean up and get a little rest reading a chapter to two from various books lying around. Next is a shower and going to bed, hopefully before 9:30 pm. Today is an exception. I woke up at 3:30 am to catch a 4:11 am bus to work. This was because we have a conference call that started at 5:00 am. Today is going to be a long day. I probably won't leave until at least 6 or 7 pm. I'm just writing to ask what everyone's life is like because sometimes I wonder if I am really pushing it with this lifestyle. I barely have time after work to do significant things; like clean the bathtub or unpacking more boxes, or may be I am too hard on myself for wanting the apartment I just moved into to be super clean at the same time with giving the job my all. I want to join another gym that has a pool so I can swim after work to relax. But how can I do that if I also want to tidy up the place? I've been thinking about hiring someone to clean once a month. Just stressed. I hope more people input their stories so I can get an idea of what's out there. Aphrodite, your life sounds so glamourous and stimulating. San Francisco must be wonderful!go for it with the hiring. i once had a low paying job plus an even lower paying part-time job, and i still hired someone to clean my apartment twice a month. mine was a tiny one-room place. and that money took a chunk out of my food budget, but it was well worth it. that made my life so nice. it was holistic house-cleaning as well. no chemicals or toxins. and it was charged with good energy too. you're on top of the world, my dear!

What are your work hours? When I want them to be, I do my own work in my time :0)What do you do for a living? Homemaker, typist, Mother (to 3 kittens), Partner, Spiritual path of learning, courses, building an online shop, sleep, eat and love. How do you allocate time for doing chores and fun things I integrate housework during the day, I do the minimum unless I've got no other work on which is rare (you should see the bathroom !). I have no social life, I have few friends, I no longer have leisure time out of choice :0) I figure, the harder I work, the more leisure time I will eventually get :0) IP: Logged |

Good Heavens, Aphrodite! You may possibly be the busiest person I know. How do you keep it all together? I think that schedule would probably kill me in a month. I don't like stress. What do you do for stress relief? You mentioned that you would like to start swimming. Have you ever tried Yoga? With your intense schedule, I don't know how you keep from dropping into bed exhausted the minute you get home. I'm going to send some white light and astral energy your way. Are you OK with only 6 hours of sleep? Now you have brought out the Mom in me and I'm concerned that you may be driving yourself too hard.IP: Logged |

Heehee...sorry Aphrodite, we East-Coasters have you working such crazy hours. I now have to be at work by 9AM (used to be by 8:30), and thankfully leave around 5:30ish. Obviously, some days are busier that others. My old job had me working late late late almost every day. I find it very difficult to budget in other real-life tasks that I need to do, so a lot of things are last-minute these days. But this company is more understanding of work-life balance, so we'll see. I fall asleep when I'm tired-which often varies (can be as early as 9 or as late as 1-2AM). I typically go out a couple of evenings/week. When it comes to the weekend, I prefer to stay in on either Fri or Sat night, to keep some quality time to myself. One of my hardest tasks to budget is keeping up with my friends. Too many think I don't write/call often enough and some get pretty upset about it.You should come to NY in June! It just so happens I may be on the West Coast-San Fran, in fact, with family in the fall. I swear, my brother *just* mentioned it to me in the car and I'd like to see if I can finagle a slight detour on the way to visit an old...friend. IP: Logged |

I'm self-employed, so I work all kinds of crazy hours. I have permanent body-clock-is-haywire-itis. ------------------ "Never mentally imagine for another that which you would not want to experience for yourself, since the mental image you send out inevitably comes back to you." Hi Aphrodite. I have been thinking about you since this thread started. May loads of LIGHT and HEALING LOVE come to you. Linda was right about Labors of Love. She helped me so much in the search for mine. Keep thinking about what your perfect labor of love will be and, like Linda magic, the opportunity will present itself. You just have to be prepared to jump into the stream and swim for it when you see your lifeboat signalling as it sails by.IP: Logged |
