Welcome, Dianabeat! Maybe if you try a whole bunch of different stuff, you'll find something you want to do every day. What are your interests?

What would you do for free?

What if there is no one thing? What happens when it's a whole bunch of things?

I'm 45 and I still don't know what I want to be when I grow up!

What would you do for free? So you're not supposed to get money for your LOL? Well, in that case, I keep thinking programming but I never seem to have time to do it... I also wouldn't like to get money doing it. I also think I don't have too many ideas on which programs to write, hence, once I'm finished, that LOL will be gone, but maybe another will grow...

You seem to be quite good at writing programs.

Maybe you could take ideas from others and do the tech side of it. You could partner or have them pay you.

Thanks for the advice Randall. Life is such a weird thing. Its like, I have ideas, but somehow don't want to implement them because once they're completed I'll have to start something else. Which is fine, but it may be a continual need to start something new. I like a quote from a book I read "Each thing I do, I ruch through so I can do something else". It's kinda classic gemini speak but note rush does not imply shoddy, just the inner turmoil that time is running out. This gravity program I'm writing now could probably be completed soon, but I don't have the time or inclination to complete it right now. I like to ponder about it. I'm already planning my next extension of it in the mean time. A lot of the ideas on my page won't manifest, but that's fine. It seems they are mostly animation which I don't want to get into. I like it as a hobby. I wouldn't want people to pay me because I also wouldn't want to complete them according to time frames. Ideas are a cool idea. When I run out, I'll come here ane ask what people would like to see. I was thinking of integrating the health definitions and foods from Star Signs, but I want people to buy the book. I was thinking once of writing a lexigramming program, but it could take too long (I don't know how to implement a dictionary), plus the search times for words might make it slow. Not to mention that lexis should be personal. I keep thinking that once I'm finished with my "little" experiments, I will get really into QED and make some programs to experiment with particle formulas. But until then I'll keep tinkering. I'm also still a temp (after 3.5 years) so any time I do have *should* be spent writing applications.

Heaps of Love,
Dean.

Are you still trying to find your labor of love??? I found a book by the co-author of The Celestine Prophecy. It's supposed to be a great book. The one I read today is by Carol Adrienne, called "The purpose of your life". It's truely inspirational! Especially if you are unsure of a direction in your life. She offers a very unique way of looking at finding your own niche. Not a traditional one either.
Here is an encouragement from the book...

As You Go Forward...

* Embrace the moment, and accept where you are now.
* Remember that, before birth, you carefullyconsidered the opportunities offered by this lifetime, and chose to take this body and this experience.
* Reconnect to your purpose by learning new skills and working with obstacles.
* When in doubt or fear, look for your underlying opinions and assumptions about everything.
* Keep your focus on that which gives you energy, and move in that direction. Pay a lot of attention to synchronocity and how it relates to you.
* GIVE UP THE NEED FOR CERTAINTY.
* Strenghten your faith in the truth that you are born with an inherent purpose, and that purpose MUST AND WILL be revealed to you through your own intention, intuition, synchronistic meetings, and the uncommon wisdom of your spiritual guidence.

I don't know how old you are, but I wish I had had this book when I was young!
Best Wishes!

I found that my Labour of Love turned out to be the thing that i've always wanted to do, but never seemed to be able to get there. I had to overcome al sorts of problems (mainly of my own making), just to start out on the right track. Eg. I'm in training to be an acupuncturist, and i'm absolutely mortified by needles!!!
