My stay home mommy time is coming to an end. My kids will both be in school full time next year. I need to do something... but what?!

There are so many avenues I want to explore; massage, chiropractor, herboloby, pyschology. Funny how they all have to do with healing. So, I know that much. I want to help people with healing. There are SO many ways to do this... I don't know which I want to choose.

If I don't pick something and go with it, I'll catch a lot of hell from my Taurus hubby who thinks I'm entirely too flighty.

*sigh*

I guess this is mostly a rant... but any insights would be appreciated.

It's okay. You aren't alone. I'm in college and i've changed my major four times in 2 years. I think i've come to a final decision now, but i'm not too sure. I think i will stick with it this time, but what is going to happen in the future, i have no idea. I can only suggest that you do something that you will enjoy doing. Turn a hobby or passion into a career and you will be set. Of course, its easier said than done. Good luck!

p.s. More than 1/2 the female population of my college is doing psychology, and i think it is possible to get the psychology ba degree in 3 years, but to actually be able to help people you would have to go for a master's degree. so it would take a long time to get in this profession. i don't know about chiropractory, but i would imagine that requires years of studying, but they do get paid a lot! Herbology sounds interesting. Massage would probably be the easiest to get into.

Dear LibraSparkle - I Know you'll find something to sprinkle your sparkly dust over

If your heart says healing than do it - if it's a Labour of Love, it'll serve you well See, I can relate since I'm thinking about this now, for when I have babies. I have been told by Inga that I can and should do healing, work with crystals, and develop my psychic abilities and I think that'll be the time for me.

If you do start this now, than maybe by the time I start, I'll be asking you for advice!

I hope you find what you love doing since you have so much to give

Hey thegoat! Haven't spoken to you before, but yep I agree, psychology is a bigun at the moment - very interesting too. How cool you live in Brooklyn, I have a couple of friends from there, I'm in the UK though
Like your name, it brings to mind - G.O.A.T - Greatest Of All Time - LL Cool J, or was that intentional aswell as the cappy relevance?!

Speak to ya'll soooooon,
Sheaa

well...honestly, I didn't come up with the name. One of my friends really wanted me to get involved on this site so he registered for me. I am a cappy and he is not too creative so he came up with thegoat as the name for me. The name is okay.

I heard of the LL album G.O.A.T. and i think it completely sucked so that didn't come to mind, but hey thats a pretty good thing to tell people its an acronym for! Thanks a lot!!

Thanks for the replies, Sheaa and thegoat

I hope it comes to me soon. I KNOW it's to do with healing. I took to Reiki almost immediately. I was able to give treatments before I was attuned. My ability Reiki was their reason for wanting to attune me. They thought attunements would make me stronger. Honeslty, I don't know that it did. I am a stronger Reiki now, but in my opinion it is because I have given plenty of treatments by now and am more intune with the energy and my own sensations.

I'd love to have my own little place of healing. I guess I do have a dream. I would really like to have my own shop that offers Massage, Herbology, Reiki & tribal belly dancing lessons.

Sheaa, I remember you saying you were interested in belly dancing. You really should check it out. It's fabulous. It's like a sisterhood. The communication between all of the women is nonverbal. You can practically see the energy flowing amongst you all. You can definatley feel it, for it is the energy that tells you where the dance is going. Generally the dances are not choreographed. The dances are either in a chorus (the chorus following the lead of one dancer in front, each taking turns being the lead), or duets (again, each taking turns being in the lead).

I haven't been part of a troup in a while now, since I don't have the money right now. It's more important to me that my kids are involved in extracarricular activities. They're both gymnasts. So, eventually I'll go back. Eventually I'll have the money.

Hey sweetie-pie,

What I do is find the image I want to post (usually by searching google's images), right click on the image, select properties. A window will open up that gives you the info on the image. Copy the url and paste it in between . I don't know what smileycentral is, but you can probably do it the same way.

Hope this helps. Let me know

hmmm ... maybe that links no good? I dunno. Try another.

I thought that might have something to do with it, so I copied the original url... but as you see, that didn't work either.

I bet Randall knows why.

Libra Sparkle,
Try reading "The Edgar Case Handbook For Creating Your Future" It's VERY stimulating if you are searching for "something". It's 232 pages that will make you salivate. Very metaphysical approach to decision making. I really cherish this book! It's pretty common in book stores and only costs $6.00!

Actually, yeah. I was thinking last night about Reiki...

What if I set up shop out of my home for Reiki and only worked for donations?

Would that be wrong?

At least it's a start

Hey - that's a great idea As long as you're OK with the safety issue, in your home? I bet you know most of this already about Reiki but thought I'd link you;
http://www.reiki-evolution.co.uk/
http://www.reikiclasses.com/ -

Maybe it can develop into teaching for you? Maybe you'll be coaching me one day? Maybe I'll move to the states! * looking thoughtful tapping chin*...
HEY - you could develop fairy dust for mass production? I have the fairies (apparently)

Seriously though - I'm very excited for you Dani! You may soon be actively doing your Labour of Love for a living - one of my goals! Lots of new beginnings for you enjoy the blossoming springtime in your life right now

I LOVE that movie. It's one of the few DVDs I own that I acutally watch when I get a hankering.

It can be though!

In fact, yes it is
