Saved?

Your forgiveness mocks my guilt.
Your faith insults my struggle.
Your love is an impertinence.
Your cross just smells like trouble.

Your eyes are full of blood.
Your skin is weeping pox.
Your cheek is very red.
Your coat and cloak are lost.

And, all the while, you mount a slope,
Ascending to your grave,
With whips and scorns, and spears and stones,
And thorns to bless and save.

Why'd you have to be so good?
Why'd you have to try?
Now no man can love himself
Who doesn't live to die.

Welcome Heart-Shaped Cross!

Very moving, I read it couple of time to get the impact. I'd look forward to reading more from you.

See you in the other forums,
Sheaa

Thanx Sheea,

I like your signature. Have you read any of Schopenhauer's theories on music? He sees it as the purest artistic expression of The Will, for, unlike other forms, it is entirely itself, without an object. He has some beautiful things to say about that.

peace,
Steve

Peace Steve - someone else who uses that greeting in daily life

I hadn't heard of Schopenhauer until you mentioned it. Am I on the right lines with this search? http://www.press.jhu.edu/books/hopkins_guide_to_literary_theory/arthur_schopenhauer.ht ml

I'm aware of the book now. Although I wondered if there was something more proficient online to read that you knew of. Haven't had the chance to search properly today.

Where did your name come from, Heart-Shaped Cross is deep. I'm interested since I learn things from Knowflakes all the time, even if it is just a preference, I like it.

By the way, if you pop over to Free-for-all and see my post on 'Some Solid Input Please Knowflakes'.. I'd be interested what you think

Music is encompasses everything for me. I love it, hence my signature.

I love poetry, & keep a lyric book. Most of it's metaphorical & means several things to me. I've yet to set aside time to post it in 'Yellow Wax..'.

Is poetry your Labour of Love, Steve?

Speak to you soon,
Sheaa

Hi Sheaa,

Havent visited in a few days. I'll check out your thread on Free For All. As for the name, I've always been a little too clever with words, mixing and matching common expressions. Heart-Shaped Cross just sort of came to me - and it really seems fated. I love the band Nirvana, and they have a song, "Heart-Shaped Box"... Also, I'm very interested in Christian Mysticism. And, just as, a heart-shaped box is basically a perfect symbol for Eros, possessive love, - Agape, unconditional love, is fairly represented by the cross. Since the cross has been largely divested of its significance by over-exposure, I think it is a cool trick to remember the esoteric meaning of it, by imagining a cross shaped like a heart; after all, a cross is more than a shape, as is a heart.

I've always been fascinated by the notion of being "crucified" by/for Love. The death and rebirth of the self in and through the power of love. Maybe it has something to do with being a Scorpio, with a sun conjunct venus...

By the Hebrew-Chaldean Numerological Alphabet, "Heart-Shaped Cross" works out to a 7 (from 61). I exhibit almost as many 7 qualities as 6 qualities - I am also strong in 1's and 5's.
