i'm a student of tarot and astrology, and am exploring the hidden meaning in life through many other means. in an ideal world, i would be able to pursue these wisdoms full time. but how can i be financially stable doing this?furthermore. am i destined to a life learning about that which many people find to be foolish or spooky? how can i overcome a fear of being alienated? has anyone pursued "new age" careers sucessfully? could you please share your knowledge? i'm full of ideas, but afraid of failing. i have(as i've mentioned a billion times in other posts) two children. seems to raise the stakes a bit..

I can't help you with finding an actual career in a metaphysical field. But I can relate to the feeling of not being fulfilled…as far as work goes anyway. I almost invested in a Metaphysical bookstore, here in my hometown. I received a heat wave of pressure from family, they don’t understand that just because you believe in the unknown, doesn’t make you a total freak. I received some major alienation there! In turn I never went through with it, I have a daughter also, and I need the stability. So I just continue to feed my wisdom, and most importantly I feed my daughters wisdom, and her imagination! As my mother attempted with me… I think that our children should be our main “job” and anything I can do to train her into believing that all things are possible is totally fulfilling, and fun!Good post I am interested to here what others have to say.

I find that so many metaphysical teachings have enhanced my life and yet still some in my family think its nonsense and use that to keep me down in their minds. In time i began to realize that the only people I need discuss this with are those that beleive too. Otherwise it was just me trying to convice them ( or was i trying to convice myself?). On the topic of employment I too wonder about the saying do what you love and the money will follow. I love metaphysical stuff but have yet to make a living from it.IP: Logged |

Dear Lag, Hi! Instead of looking for employment in the metephysical field....I have a better Idea, that worked well for me. How about applying all your gifts that you have aquired on your path of higher learning to any job you find yourself in? I myself have worked at Mcdonalds,As a councler, deli clerk, secretary, mananger, cashier. All of these positions have offered me the opprotunity to reach out to people in desperate need of spiriutal guidance, and offer then free of charge that which GOd gave me free of charge,,see? You are a great soul to utilize this learning to uplift your fellow brothers and sisters.Good Luck, and God bless. Andrea IP: Logged |

Lag sorry,,,I too had children (four) and a job.YOU can still learn, pursue, and grow spiritually. The Road your on is a difficult one because it demands that you keep one foot in the physical and one in the non -physical and try to remain balanced and grounded. No easy task!

wow, i'm surprised this got posted in again. and just minutes before i come by.I actually have it all figured out now! I've found a way to follow my dream of working in a field where i can be surrounded with our "new age" topics. I can also work at a "real" job for financial security. I'm opening a library/research center specializing in astrology, tarot, color therapy.. etc. it has been very well recieved , and my board of directors is being formed. have a meeting with a business development councellor later this month. I am very proud of the work I've put into this so far. Just a matter of birthing the idea into reality now. ------------------ LibraRising CapSun AquaMoon IP: Logged |

Congrats! ------------------ "There is no use trying," said Alice; "one can't believe impossible things." "I dare say you haven't had much practice," said the Queen. Good job!!!! I agree with Merratti... and also, sometimes what you know can only be known.. you can't convince anyone... Which is when the phrase "To each their own" comes in handy to know internally. I am glad you share the things I love as well.Congratulations!!! I am also currently following my dreams and putting together something better for my future. Are you my age? *Just thinking about Saturn return stuff I am twenty eight. IP: Logged |

You guys are awesome. I'm a smidgen younger Pix, 26. But Saturn just crossed my MC.. Place of operation will be on the midcoast of Maine, so if you're nearby you should definately come check it out. Opening day will be sometime in September or October. I've been running charts, and checking my own transits. Using what I know to aid in planning. Be well ------------------ LibraRising CapSun AquaMoon IP: Logged |

LOL I had actually thought of asking for it to be lexigrammed. It has too many letters, and all of the vowels. So I think it breaks the rules. Will share the name as soon as it's legit. ------------------ LibraRising CapSun AquaMoon IP: Logged |

I studied the healing arts and have practised reiki and spiritual healing for a number of years. I also do tarot readings and love spells for people and no kidding the majority I meet take me serious. I am not sure whether this has to do with living in Ireland, the magical country, well it probably helps. For a time I also cleared houses of negative energies, but found this hard going, maybe I shall do that again in the future. I am fortunate cos my man works full time, I only get the work when I need it, I am not always able to do it cos one has to be in good form. I started off by working full time in an office and offering the readings in the evenings and at weekeneds, this is tiring but a good way to get established - good luck I hope it works out for you. Eventually people will see you are serious and good at what you do, and will be banging your door down for guidance, I promise - love and luck Sue xxIP: Logged |
