I just realized today, as my son was playing a game and began to say "I know I can do it!, yes I can!, I will win it!" and he did. I told him this was very good to do and that he should think this way about many things. So the other week, I felt a horrendous cold coming on. And I deceided that it wasn't happening and I would not succumb to it. I didn't and no one else around me did either. So how about using creative visualization for your lids when they're sick. I'm sure they have much stronger mind power than an adult, as they cannot come up with any reason why it wouldn't work. So instead of babying them too much and feeling sorry for them when they have a fever, how about approaching them with an upbeat attitude and get them to try and feel cool as an ice cube or a snowman and see if their fever doesn't go down. I bet it would.IP: Logged |

I read yewars ago a study, in which a kindergarten class's saliva sample was taken, the antibodies measured, etc.. ( all that clinical stuff I know nothing about, I just remember the gist of it) Well, then the experts asked them to visualize icky germs and then visualize the awesome superheroes in their body fighting those icky germs... When they resampled their saliva, there was a marked increase in antibodies. So that's neat.I have real issues with whimsy and practicality in my own life.. both are hard to justify, but somehow, faith feels better to me. IP: Logged |

Thats cool pixelpixie, It's like that part in star signs about the children with cancer imagining the white light and a video game-like zapper zapping the cancer cells and how a bunch of them went into remission. It's so inspiring.IP: Logged |

Hmmmm, interesting! As a child, we couldn't afford to go to the Dr. So subconsciously, when we felt sick, as in stomach flew, whopping cough ect. we told ourselves, our parents couldn't afford to take us to the Dr. and therefore we really weren't sick. The "illness" would go away. One time, I broke my ankle, subconsciously, I knew my parents couldn't afford to take me to the Dr. I felt pain, but I also knew I couldn't have broken my ankle. I never went to the Dr. I couldn't walk for a long time without cruches.(compliments of an uncle who had broken his ankle) Years later, when I did go to a Dr. for a twisted ankle, he asked me how many times I had broken my ANKLES A classic understanding of what is, is! Pain was just another FACT of life, just as being hungry. IP: Logged |

Pixelpixie, you are so right about kids having stronger mental power than most adults. Since I read that part of Star Signs that tracysalome mentioned, I've actually tried to visualize a white light myself and I find that it is such a daunting task for me. Sure, I can think of a mental image of white light but to truly visualize something would mean that you can actually see it as if in a dream. Just recently I have tapped into the ability to visualize the white light, years later as I did not adopt a continuous exercise of it (such busy bees we all are!), and I find that I can only muster the visualization if I call upon my Higher S-elf. Then, He sends me visions of Sunlight reflecting off of a car or tells me to look up and as I do I see a brightly shimmering airplane passing by (all in my mind's eye of course). It just goes to show my need for material objects to create a reality inside my mind, as opposed to children who can simply see it if you only ask them to.Peace Profound IP: Logged |

Hey neat! NoSiS.... I have a hard time trying to visualize the light as well, but then when I am in the right mind frame, I find just repeating the phrase "white light", like a mantra, I get there more easily. My mother has always been into alternative healing methods... so I suppose from a small person, listening to 'subliminal healing' tapes, I got to the point of being able to meditate quuite early in life. I used to help my friends with it, in fact.. but as I grew, I also grew a little more jaded, while my mind is open to visualization, I often find myself lacking time or objectivity to do so. I forget the placid state that comes with a clear mind, as I am too busy outside to turn it all off. I don't even mean important things.. of course they're there too, but just silly things lke.. I wonder what's going on in LL tonight? I am eager to DO DO DO....I have to tell myself to DON'T!!!*Philbird, you make me cry for the child you were, but also proud of the person you are. And also.. whats up with me? I detect an actual flirt from Randall.... and I didn't see it for days!!! I missed a prime opportunity. My flirt radar is getting rusty. Sorry, Randall, I'll pick up the pace next time. I have discovered Ra's an incredible flirt. YAY! Good too! IP: Logged |
