I've decided I would like to work from home so I can continue writing.
But, everytime I find a 'work from home business', whether it's surveys or web design, you have to send money first.
I wish I could find one without having to send money.
I don't want the risk of losing the money, and I don't feel that's safe. I don't know who I'm sending it to.
Does anyone know of real, genuine, home based work I could look at?

Lol that makes me think of that music video with the lady talking on the phone ("working") while she's ironing....with the baby on one arm....hair not washed in days...Have you seen that?

Anyway - there is something I'm looking into doing at least part time, and thats being a secret shopper. You have to know the right reputable sites, and theres a one time membership fee,(29.00 I think) but then you're on a list that gets sent out to companies who need secret shoppers, and the work is totally gauranteed.

It looked good to me, so i might do it after tax return time. I'll go dig up the link for you.

I'm not really a very vocal person, and I'm too shy ...

I have to keep looking until something comes up.
I know what my Labor of Love is but I need some different work for now to make money as 1 income is not enough.

I bet if you were to get some big name companies under your belt (Gap, McDonalds) and they were pleased with your work, you eventually could live that way. Maybe. The key is to be efficient, observant, and to type out your findings (or fill out the paper they send you) clearly and completely. Most of them want feedback the same or next day.
The cool thing about this job is you only take ones convenient for you, and most of them will reimburse you for what you buy on your little excursion, as well as pay you!

Here is the link I was telling you about, Sun. I'm about to look at it again myself. Is it worth it to risk 30 bucks? I don't know. I think I'll try it tho

I don't have any information that could help you, but I'll say a prayer for you that you may find the exact job you need "under grace, with no inconvenience to anyone."

Good Luck!

Thanks for the info Ayumi, and that's so lovely of you NosiS, I Know you can create powerful *white magic!
I pray I will be successful in writing, and live off that LOL

I actually rang my old boss a week ago, and he's happy to have me back as an account executive for a major telco company, and I will be working for myself, and am going to register a business name. And hopefully start something up for myself in the near future.

I wouldn't trust any of those businesses that have you give them money to be able to work at home. There are so many scams. I researched on the internet about work at home jobs and I still get junk mail in the real mail....and spam galore! in e-mail. I think if there is anything truly valid you probably have to hear about it word of mouth. If anyone does hear of anything legit--let us know!
