I finally did it! I gave my two week notice and will be working on my small business full time by the end of this month. I am scared and excited. The truth is that I have more orders than I can fill while working...so here I go. In case anyone is interested in what the business is, I make cold kettle processed soaps...they are spa quality, and I make lip balms, sugar scrubs...and other beauty needs. This started as something I did to help my disabled daughter's skin and now I have been "discovered". I ask that only good vibes come my way... as this is starting while I am going through a divorce. Thanks for letting me share my good news! -Irish IP: Logged |

Congratulations! That's great! I have a question about the sugar scrubs...are they for exfoliating only or are they also for hair removal (the ones you do). I'm interested in knowing more about that....and the ball park price of those kinds of services....if that isn't too much to ask. Just curious. IP: Logged |

What kind of art do you do? ------------------ "There is no use trying," said Alice; "one can't believe impossible things." "I dare say you haven't had much practice," said the Queen. Yes Pix I am elated and I am working many hours to prepare for all of this. Wish me luck!Randall- Cold Kettle Processed Soaps is what I do. It is considered an art form from a historical stand point. I use the same methods that have been used since the late 1700's. The only difference is that I do not use animal fats as where used in large quantities during that period of time. It takes 6 weeks for the soap to cure after they have been created. I use sodium hydroxide and fats (olive oil, coconut oil, macadamia nut oil, ect..) to create these soaps. They are great for the skin as they are all natural. The people that use my soaps are happy that they no longer suffer from "itchy" skin. And many of them tell me that they have noticed a difference in their skins overall apperence. I hope that answers your question. -Irish

May I just say, not only as part of this crazy enterprise called Country Girl Chic, but also as a satisfied soap user, Irish ROCKS!!! Her Castille soap is AMAZING!! My skin has never felt better. I spend a lot of time outside in the sun and I live in a hard water area. Between that and the obscene Missouri humidity year round (I know people from New Orleans who refuse to visit their relatives here because it's too humid in the summer!) my skin never knows what it's doing. Dry patches, oily patches, everything. I haven't had nearly the problems since she started shipping soap to me. (Hint, hint Irish - I need some more.)I'm not saying this just because Irish is my best friend and I love her dearly. She really has found one of the great things she was meant to do in her life. And as she says, if nothing else, "As God as my witness, We'll never go dirty again!" Love ya Irish LLL IP: Logged |

Thanks Sheaa!Had a show today and it went well even though the weather was awful. Nothing funnier than seeing a soapmaker trying to save her soap from the rain....I wonder what would have happen if I let it all suds up at the same time.....I guess that it could be a way to get free press....
