Hey all,
Im turning 18 this year and leaving school to enter the big wide world around me. Im afraid, very afraid. My sun is in Virgo, my moon in Scorpio and i have an Aquarian ascendant, and these mixed energies confuse me about what i want to do for a living once I've been kicked out of the nest. Part of me wants a high educated occupation to earn lots of money and be successful (im thinking the virgo side of me) however another part of me isnt interested in making money at all and just wants to offer the world my creativity but how do i do this AND earn a living at the same time?? HELP! i need some good advice for what to do about my polar personalities...

Hey you sound like me ! except I'm 23 with a child on my own, and stuck in a backwards southern town far away from NY. So I HAVE to work full time, and school is a luxury when I can scrape up the funds.

Here's my advice: Take a year off and work full time, bank some money. Do some exploring. Try to get a job in an area you are truly interested (for college applications as well as experience). then, GO TO SCHOOL. It may not be your ideal and it might be difficult to stick with, but once its done its done. Yu could even start off part time, get a feel for it. There's also online classes, if thats more apealing to you. I did that and its tricky, but good if you want time for yourself, and the convenience of your own schedule.
AS far as what you want to do, the only way to find out is to try it all! Keep busy and the right direction will start to stand out.

My opinion (Onion) of course, but regret is an unpleasent emotion - try to cover your bases. I envy you, you're on the brink of fun stuff.
