Hi everyone, I'm about to graduate from college with a BA in psychology and a BS in cognitive science, and i'm considering the following career options....any input here would be extremely helpful!1. Clinical psychologist: A clinical psychologist gets a PHD, but getting into the programs for this is more competetive than med school. Its an extremely versatile and highly regarded degree that allows one to do anything from counseling to research to teaching. Specializations include youth, drug/alcohol, elders, neuropsychology and many others. 2.Therapist: A therapist these days usually gets a PSY D and receives some of the training a clinical psychologist gets, but does not do research. A PSY D usually becomes a therapist but can do many differnet types of therapy on many differt groups. 3. Naturopathic Doctor: There are only 4 accredited schools for this in the US, 1 in Ontario Canada (Pix ), anyway these are trained like medical school doctors for the first 2 years, then learn all kinds of eastern/natural techniques, are trained in chi, accupuncutre, reiki, and all that other great stuff. All of these sound like possibilities to me, I know I want to heal, I m'just not sure which area to go into yet??
Any advice would be welcome! Heres my birthtime if anyones feelings REALLY generous: dec 21, 1981, sacramento, CA, 8:13 AM THANKS!! IP: Logged |

Right off the bat I would say go for the Clinical Psychology PhD. You can learn reiki and the other stuff outside of an institution, and clinical psychologists help a lot of people a tremendous whole lot. Other than that, go wherever the spirit moves you. I was going to get a BA in psychology but then I changed it to a minor. I'm still debating going to grad school for it though... I seriously considered forensic psychology, focusing on the clinical aspect of things. Hmmm... Well, good luck with your decision!! IP: Logged |

Go for what "feels" right, for who you are, and where you can see yourself being happy and content in your choice. Don't let the aspect of big money sway your decision, or cloud your judgement. There are alot of people out there getting paid the big money, but they are stressed out and full of regrets. But the money keeps them there, and they become a slave to their job. Do what you love, do not base your choice on others opinions. I think I know which is the best one for you. I'm just going to wait and see if you pick the one I think is "YOU." A key here seems to be, is that you want to heal. There is much diversity in the choices you posted. Sit down and write out the heart felt, from your soul reasons for wanting to heal others. Then write down the social/financial etc. Determine which is the most important to you, now and down the road. Are you more comfotable with talking to/counseling, or does the aspect of physical contact of hands on healing appeal more to you? Be honest with yourself and you'll make the right choice.IP: Logged |

You go boy!Go big or go home. Funny, you are exactly a month older than me. One month and two hours, actually. Good luck in whatever you choose, the right path will make itself clear. Ghani IP: Logged |

Hey Blue,Yeah, this last eclipse was interesting, though not too exciting for me. It left me pretty mentally and physically drained. It fell in my third house so....makes sense. I have no idea how the upcoming full moon eclipse will play out. It's landing smack dab in the middle/opposite of my Merc/Chiron conjunction in the third house in Taurus, so who knows? I'm glad you have found some direction and had a few great realizations. It's always nice when that happens. Where are these eclipses hitting your chart I wonder? All the best to you! IP: Logged |

How is the eclipse angled to your conjunction? The eclipse left me quite drained as well, had to do with my ex etc. The eclipse fell in my 3rd house too.....remember we have the same asc The next one is falling in my 4th in conjunction to my moon in scorp, probably your 4th too. I feel this eclipse will strengthen my emotional resolve and solidify my currnet path. I'm already planning on moving in sept, we'll see what happens IP: Logged |

Oh yes, we have the same Asc. I knew that. lol See this is what I mean, this is how this eclipse is affecting me. What I meant was that since it's a full moon eclipse (an opposition of the sun and moon), the Sun part of it is falling right in between my Merc/Chiron conjunction. But the actual Lunar half of the eclipse is falling in my 9th house. I think this one will bring some interesting communications or contacts. I've read that people should guard their health and take it easy during eclipse times. Especially when it's hitting natal planets. They can sometimes cause health problems or just drain you of energy. Sounds like we both felt that aspect of it. You are probably right about the eclipse strengthening your emotional resolve and solidifiying your current path. It falling in your 4th house, 'who you are deep down, you at your core', it should have a powerful effect on you and help you find out where you really want to go from here. And it being a Lunar eclipse, not a Solar, you will feel it's effects in a more internal way most likely. Though there could be outer, environnmental changes as well. And something happening about two weeks ago should come to a head, or some light will be shed on it. We'll have to wait and see! IP: Logged |

If you are confident and willing to go to school for another decade or so (well not decade...unless ure specializing it can go up to that.) than I would say definitely go to med school!!! By being an MD you would have soo many more options available to you and can easily specialize in almost any other offshoot of health you wish afterwards. Plus you could work anywhere in the world. You should do what you really feel you would enjoy doing. IP: Logged |
