We found getting rid of the TV solved all those problems...just recently got it back out to watch an educational video or two.

We dont have problems with the whining "I want it!" when we do take the kids into astore.

Most important rule:

Say what you mean.

If you say "No",

That shouldn't mean,

"Only if you whine and throw a tantrum for 60 seconds,"

which is, unfortunately, the message most parents send their kids.
