Hi,
I graduated as a secondary music teacher ten years ago;I taught in high schools and primary schools, and english in japan for two years. On my return I taught music for six months in a primary school: It was really hard, and basicly, I hated it.

Before I went to Japan, I also found teaching difficult-- behavior-- to be precise.Whenever Ive thought of leaving, somethings always held me back. Im now doing a one-year primary degree:Its very rigorous, but Im learning a lot about reading and writing.

Before I started the course I applied to the public service--many of my friends are PS's--I liked the sound of being in an office, rather than a frantic classroom!
I decided to start the course instead.

So, I am A Sag sun; vir moon; taur asc; can saturn; pisc MC; Sag north node: Ive heard that sag is a classic teachy sign, and saturn can be a good indicator of destiny/work. Cancers are nurturing;good with kids...
I read that sat canc express themselves through teaching or writing: I am getting into writing/grammar, through the course; maybe that's something?

My bday is sat 15 dec 1973 6:32PM Melborne Australia.

Sorry for the lenghty blurb, and thanks for any help you can give.

Cheers,
Jason.

Your second house has retrograde Saturn, meaning you have to practice the money mystique compulsorily for increasing abundance.

You have one of the greatest placements possible, Jupiter conj Part of Fortune in Aquarius 9th house. Also you have Talent conj Sun conj Pallas conj True Node in Sagittarius 7th.

You are most suited to be a patient propogator of an idealistic field of advanced knowledge that expands some aspect of humanity. This idealistic field must resonate with whatever you have discovered about yourself or your skills in all these years.

Read this line many times and implement, it is your fortune and your luck.

I'm gonna vote no on teaching. Sag is a great teaching sign, but I think you may have even greater things in store.

Saturn in Cancer may actually serve to inhibit your ability to be nurturing.

Sag is a musical sign as is Taurus, your Ascendant. I do suggest staying with that since you're so naturally gifted. You have a Picses Midheaven, which is artistic and expressive. This is where your career is supposed to go.

Your S. Node indicates that you spend a lot of time collecting information. In this lifetime you need to evolve from information gathering to trusting in yourself and the knowledge you already possess. A lot of answers are already within you. You just need to trust them. Otherwise you'll drive yourself crazy thinking that you need to know more when actually you don't.

I suggest either becoming a rock star, or some otherwise significant musician. Your N. Node will appreciate your being confident in your knowledge/skills, and your Pisces Midheaven will enjoy your soulful, artistic expression I think.

Of course Pisces could mean that you're meant to connect with people as well, and I'll grant that that could mean children. I'm just not convinced.

Hi Prox,
I am going to look up what I think are career assisting asteroids for you as well. Till then, pls tell me
1) What do you love doing?
2) What is the best job you have ever done?
3) What is your speciality in the BA degree?
4) If you had 20 billion dollars in the bank and yet you still wanted to work to keep yourself busy, what EXACTLY would you like to do? This part is vital, think carefully about it and answer.

Hi Prox,
I will be looking at your chart Monday. I have got the basic idea but have not looked up the asteroids.
I will also need your emailid which you use to store attachments etc [scrap-id] cause I have to send some e-books concerning finances/career too.

The great news is Mars and True Node are close to MIdheaven (though not conjunct).
They are in 10th House and so is Jupiter.
The problem is Mars is retro and the degree is 29th. Jupiter is also retro. This in 10th house Virgo can mean that you did not adequately pay enough attention to detail in learning about career from your dad or whosoever was a father figure.
Hence, paying good attention to your career and finances path in anything that needs a Virgo mind will click. It should expand your spirit as well than be a boring job.
The Sabian Symbol of your Jupiter:
Black And White Children Play Together Happily.

You are a non-racist and you will do great in any field of work that promotes and sustains racial harmony.

However, part of fortune is in 2nd house Sag conjnct Neptune. This points to a more spiritual-artistic area for raking in the dollars.
Sabian Sy7mbol of your POF says "Sculptor at his work". Definitely a pointer to artistic work.

I want to put it all together holistically.

For that I must see the asteroids too!
We will analyze further when you give the answers.

Could not resist pointing this out. In this string, I know 3 people connected to the name "Jason". Jason = 17 numerologically. My full name number is also 17....

Hey lq - I want to give you thorough answers, but I'm not sure when I'll be able to dedicate the time (busy weekend - daughter's birthday), so I'll answer each one as I can:

1) What do you love doing?
That's actually a bit of the problem - I don't love doing much that I can think of.
I can become passionate about something in the moment, but there has been very little that holds through.
The most consistent things might be:

  • Reading - May sound odd, but I really do love to read. Fiction, non-fiction, doesn't matter. It may be my escapist tendencies in action, but I relish sinking into a story, feeling it caress and quake around me. Good movies, sometimes even exceptional TV, can do the same...but much more occaisionally.
  • I enjoy contemplation, of all things - though it can become quite dangerous for me.
I can spiral into thoughts and be hard-pressed to find a way out. For this reason, I must gaurd where my mind takes me.
One quick caveat: Despite my love of and ease in contemplation, I do not think that that is where my realm in this lifetime lies - at least not soley. For now, comtemplation without direct action quickly spirals into malaise with depression quick on its heals.
  • I don't know if this qualifies as "something I love", but time flies by when I'm editing something (the Virgo in action...?).
I can mess with the placement, layout, and fonts for entirely too long
  • I'm not a "kid person" - I'm not the lady who goes rushing after others people's children "Ooohing" and "Aaahing" over how cute they are - but kids often gravitate to me.
Even kids who don't know me will just come up to me and lean up against me or hold on to my leg. Sometimes they won't leave me even when their Mom calls, which is awkward.
Again, I don't know if this qualifies as a "love", but it's very easy for me to at once get down to their level and then talk to them like they're not idiots. They seem to appreciate that. It probably doesn't hurt that I like to play with Legos
  • Making music moves me - though I'm not good at all. I've been approaching learning the acoustic guitar, and I'll truck along for a while, but I keep getting pulled away. That's annoying.
  • Similarly, listening to live music quite often moves me to tears.
  • Really simple pleasures - it's awkward, as it's never seemed that I enjoy the same things as my contemporaries. My tastes seem to veer towards those of those very young and very old. Bars, nightclubs, etc. hold very little interest for me. I can sit and listen to an exceptional piece of music for hours, if given the chance, and pick out the emotions and thoughts behind it, the strains that run through it. I can sit and color (as in, "Lookit me, I've got my crayons and a coloring book!" or play board games all night and be wonderfully happy.
Chimes can hold my attention for an entirely unwarranted amount of time.
The crashness and harshness and gossip that seems to so often come up with other women puts me off. It's not that I dislike them for it, I just don't seem to know how to navigate those waters. I don't understand on some visceral level duplicity and purposeful ill-action towards others: I "get" it on an intellectual level - I can understand the thought processes and motivations behind such things - it just seems to leave me slightly numbed, if that makes any sense.
I don't say the above to judge those who are different than me - if anything, I'm at a disadvantage. I've a horrible time navigating that world.

I just heard my husband and kiddo get back, so I'll skip "2" for now and answer "3".

3) What is your speciality in the BA degree?
Anthropology and Political Science, though, to be honest, I've gotten progressively less interested in the latter. I'm very good at it - the concepts, theories, and actions are less like something learned and more like something remembered - politics has just begun to feel...heavy...for lack of a better word. I'm still interested in some facets, but "political talk" has come to leave me cold.
Perhaps my favorite course @ my last University was Peace Studies (yes, that's actually a course - that Uni actually has a whole graduate program dedicated to Conflict Resolution).
Sociology's awfully interesting, but so much of it smacks of bunk.

I'll answer the other two tomorrow while the kiddo's taking her nap.

2) What is the best job you have ever done?
I haven't done that may great jobs, really Mostly stuff just to pay the bills as I attended school.
There were little things that I liked about most of the jobs that I've held:
  • Many of the customer service jobs that I've held (a clerk at a Movie store, a "bookseller" at Border's, etc) were enjoyable in that I had the opportunity to interact with a range of interesting people. The movie place as nice because of the people that I worked with...some of the customers were enjoyable, but too many seemed to think that my being behind a counter entitled them to treat me like scum. I think that I very nearly punched one woman (I can have a temper; it's really only manifest when someone treats me as "beneath" them). I got to work with artsy, intellectual, underachievers at Borders and the customers were of a slightly different calibre than I'd encountered at other jobs - that was good
  • I worked for a Bio-tech company in DC for a while. It was a great job, but I quit because I didn't agree with some of their practices. Its pluses: Genuises who'd explain the complicated science underlying our products to me in simpler terms, some mindless manufacturing work that let me devote half of my resources to listening to NPR, and a lovely lady who spoke Klingon.
  • This wasn't really a "job", but I volunteered my Spring Break one year to Habitat for Humanity. We spent the week helping to build a house in a very remote part of West Virginia for people who hadn't had even vaguely adequate housing. (They were living in shacks in an area that can get very cold and snowy - a West African girl who was with us said, "I never knew that people in America lived like this...").
It was worthwhile work that wore me out - both definite pluses. (The latter because I get cranky if I'm not sufficiently physical - that's also the main plus of Army stint: physically, I felt better than ever before.)
  • I worked @ a tech-support dept. @ my old University. They hired for personality - the job was easy enough, mostly showing philosophy and english professors how to use their equipment - and everyone that I worked with was chill and geeky.

4) If you had 20 billion dollars in the bank and yet you still wanted to work to keep yourself busy, what EXACTLY would you like to do? This part is vital, think carefully about it and answer.
I'll have to think about this one some more...the sad thing is that I really don't know.

Hm. Well, I'd definitely finish my BA
Then, short term, I'd establish a foundation that dispersed interest-free micro loans, both in the US and abroad. A lot of my time would be taken up reading and approving applications, then travelling to check on the "progress of the investments".
I'd invest some of the other assets in Green Funds for a modest but respectable return that would both allow my money to do good in its being invested and to breed itself so that more may be done in the future.

That would keep me pretty busy, at least until my kiddo's in school. (Oh! Another bonus - I'd be able to bring Meg on my trips )

Speaking of which...she's awake.
I've more for the answer, but it'll have to wait.

OH! I saw that you wanted my e-mail.
It's this screen name @yahoo.com.
If an attachment gets bounced back, e-mail me for another account.

Truly fascinating Prox! I have never come across someone with your thought process.

My mind is munching through all you have written, along with your chart. The best ideas will come in a few days.

Let us discuss the ideas and then I will send the e-books else they will seem confusing.

My keywords for Prox's career options:

A:
Reading deeply that which needs to be edited, contemplation of aesthetics of written material for appropriateness of its presentation and layout, building up attractive reading material from several related and unrelated snippets/anecdotes based on their depth of feeling for a given situation

B:
Soul's talents at birth include interracial conflict resolution, talent for harmony creation and peace (Asteroid Talent in 21-22 degree Taurus Sabian Symbol), unravelling secrets, research on all intelligent aspects of the oceans/high seas/water bodies [From Sabian symbols of Moon conj DIscovery in 1.4 and 2.1 Aquarius ]

C:
Counselling people to escape debt, studying wealth creation plans of small entrepreneurs and pointing out their pluses and minuses, creating ideas and training for large scale volunteer/charity works that can really take off [PLuto conj Spirit 21.1 Libra, (Sabian: A Child Giving Birds A Drink At A Fountain)

We have to put it all together Prox. Integration! Try to link as many keywords.

We might have to even create a new kind of job, and you may have to request a position to do this job.

Publishers have rights to several out of print books. You can offer to consult them on picking the important paragraphs or condense the insights from important chapters of related works and create an easy to read paperback. A % commission on sales also has to be agreed upon.

"Chicken Soup For The Soul" was venture of this kind. This has never been done for astrology/mystical works.

Nah! I think you're interesting.

From The Instant Astrologer (Just little tidbits)

Sun in Pisces
In fact, you have more facets and possibilities than any other sign - and you also have as many ways of disguising them. But you are usually trying to do one or both of two things to inspire or escape.

Sun Square Neptune
Ultimately you have to see your purpose in life as being patently spiritual in the sense of doing something that employs and is aware of divine or invisible forces, or that meets the needs of others.

Sun in the 5th House
All of this is likely to centre upon the means and products of your creative expression. This would involve things like pastimes, romance, children, art, speculation, drama, partying, etc. What this entails or even demands of you is that you celebrate your uniqueness in an unreserved, even abandoned way.

You find brightness simply through shining; and in company you do seem to glow. Being proud of your own life and personality, as long as it devolve into conceit, encourages others to be proud of themselves as well. The making of something or someone is your essential quality. To you the world really is a stage, so the power and ability to play is vital, as too is your understanding that life is for the living.

Leo at the Midheaven
Studying the qualities of your Sun by Sign, House, and Aspect (see Chapter 2) will reveal much concerning the nature and success of your professional life.

Mars in the 10th House
Generally speaking, your career should be a physically active one, possibly involving the military, force, or sharp instruments.

Jupiter in the 10th House
It is very likely that you will become well known for these qualities of faith and enterprise, as well as for other personal talents - possibly concerning law, drama, teaching, religion, or the military.

Be an actress! (You know I love the arts)

I dunno, AG - I should apparently re-join the Army and wield sharp instruments

lq - I'm going to print-out and muse throughout the day over the integration of what you've written.
