teasel once mentioned this websitethe idea is to LEND money to entrepreneurs. they need small amounts. there are loans to individuals and to groups, and when groups are concerned, every members who are part of the group are responsibles for others members of the group so I don't think it is as good as a loan to an individual because it can put some members of groups in trouble if they have to repay the loans given to someone who doesn't pay his share. overall, this is an excellent idea, I think here is a video that explains the thing better. kiva.org is the website. I haven't used it yet, I just found it today and this month is tough financially but I hope some of you will use it or talk about it on facebook etc... IP: Logged |

I haven't used their services yet but I am not suspicious of them since I find it bad enough that they have to reimburse it.and the amount asked can be only 25 dollars so if it never reimbursed it's not a big loss for any westerner. I consider myself poor but it doesn't stop me from spending $$$ for myself. I'm not talking lots of $$ just what I have those people would use it to start a business that will help themselves have decent way of life and their family and maybe some other members of their community, for a small risk of never being reimbursed. if there was ever a risk of it being a scam edited I think you can find more info if you go on their website or google it. I know a woman who lends money through Kiva all the time and never gives it a second thought about losing it. She is also a small business owner and gives back.IP: Logged |
