I am double majoring in Psychology/Philosophy and minoring in Religious Studies. I am enrolled in the peace corps and when I finish my Bachelors. I plan to go overseas and enroll in their Masters program abroad and then come back and enroll in a combined Ph.D./M.D. program here at UF when I finish off my Masters. This has been my plan since I first fell in love with Psychology at 14 years old. Now when I say I LOVE Psychology. I mean, I REALLY LOVE Psychology. It's my first love and I think I would go through a divorce if a guy threaten to get in the way of my Psychology Studies. lol It's really that serious to me. But there is a problem, there is something else I love that much. Fashion Design. (Designing clothing, Sewing, ect.) I know it's two extremes. But when I ask myself, where do I see myself and would I be happy? I keep getting this feeling in my gut I should look into Fashion Design. This gut feeling has been right pretty much 110% of the time in the past with me. Thing is, I've invested so much in my Psychology and I have a really really bad home life. But I keep my head up and tell people to move out of my way. My family members (mainly males) have always trashed me and made me feel I couldn't do anything or I wasn't smart enough. But I am in college at Florida right now and I am in their honours program for my grades. So I will not let my childhood/family life EVER get in my way. I am not an angry person. I am very optimistic and cheerful. But I don't have time for BS. Which is why I need to know if I am making the right career decision. I have an intense love for design. I make my own jewelry and clothing items and I've had people ask me for a business card. I've done sketches of idea dress patterns which a few weeks later, I'll see on a runway from a major label designer who "accidentally" bumped into the idea. I feel like I love my stability in Psychology and I am very passionate about it. But I feel like in my gut that Fashion Design is where I should be. I felt like it might be best to post my chart and get some insight into this. I've done design stuff with my grandmother who taught me to sew. Who is also a seamstress, so I know this is a realistic possibility for me in regards to career. It's just I love stability and the fashion industry is full of uncertainty. I am just trying to weigh things out before I jump.

HHmmmmmmm.......
A Passion for something I totally do understand.
However, such is often more a drive, than a comfortable love.
Following ones Passion as long as it is also what one honestly loves and desires to immerse themselves in, can be quite lucrative in the long run.
However, if there is no love and delight in the Passion, only a drive;
then it will possibly in time, bring about burnout.
Doing what you truly love, rather than what drives you, yes, may be indeed the riskier choice.
Hard decision you have to make.
Personally;
I would choose;

DO WHAT YOU LOVE

I feel you have answered your own question as to what to chose. This is your "love", your art, your creativity, your free expression of self!

This is your Passion. It has roots in wanting to make a difference, for yourself, for others. However, this can become self sacrificing, wearing, no matter how driven one is to take that direction.

So;
do you want the possibly more financially stable career of Psychology;
or the more joy oriented, creative, possibly not as stable career choice of Fashion Design?

You might want to also post this at Astrology 2.
