Does anyone know where I can find more information on Nikola Tesla and his work with electricity? I have checked the libraries and done some research online, but mostly I've found only biographies, nothing concrete about his experiments. Thanks! ------------------

There are actually two videos they sell. One is called EYE OF THE STORM. It is a rare made-for-TV documentary on Tesla shown only on Australian television. The other one is Secret Of Nikola Tesla a full length feature film starring Orson Welles. I have not had the pleasure of veiwing either one. -------------------------------------- We cannot all do great things, but we can do small things with great love. -Mother Teresa- IP: Logged |

I ordered the "Inventions of Nikola Tesla!" I'll let you know what it's like. I may order one of the videos later, too. I honestly think I used to work with a man that was overshadowed by Nikola Tesla. Some of his eccentricities were very much the same as Tesla's. I'm excited about learning more!------------------

Glad I'm not the only one to notice the Hughes resemblance! ------------------ "It is never too late to become what you might have been." George Eliot IP: Logged |

You're right--the resemblance to Hughes is quite remarkable, and as I mentioned, I worked with someone who shared many of Tesla's mannerisms--such as dreaming incredibly detailed schematics of new inventions--and this person had no engineering background. Furthermore, the inventions worked! Though some of them are still ahead of their time! Anyhow, I will definitely let you know what I think of the book.------------------

PBS did a huge program on Tesla a while back...good thing I saved it in my favorites. http://www.pbs.org/tesla/index.html on the end of that note, did anyone ever see the program (60 minutes or 20/20) on Joseph Newman. I think he came the closes to what Tesla was doing, when he tried to patent his findings, the Goverment wouldnt let him do it. www.josephnewman.com

I don't understand why everyone's so crazy about this guy. Most reports have him making death rays etc. for military purposes. He wasn't a saint, or even a good man. He invented what would earn him money, like any jobbing scientist.IP: Logged |

Are we? I'm intrigued, but not necessarily crazy for the guy.

Please site your sources, Mak, as these things too might be of intrigue or interest. Because Linda was so interested in Tesla, she sparked many of her fans' interest in him, as well. btw, are you a good man, Maklhouf? And what defines a good man?

Here's a good place to get the whole truth about Tesla. (and the myths)Sorry I haven't time to narrow the search. http://www.robsimone.com/ Of course I shouldn't have used the term good man - it was just "shorthand in a hurry" IP: Logged |

A number of recent guests on Simone's programme include Tesla among their subjects of expertise. There are links to their sites beside the dates they were interviewed.IP: Logged |
