About a week ago, I had the urge to do a google search on Linda Goodman. It was really out of the blue because I had not thought about her and her books in a few years now. Thanks to google, I found this wonderful site. However, it has thrown me into a kind of 'psychic chaos'. Discovering that Linda had died was bad enough. Realizing she died of a common illness and at a relatively young age for the 21st century floored me. It really made me question everything I believe, not just the things she taught. Maybe everyone else is right and my 'truths' are based on a writer's overactive imagination and even a little mental instability. As I poured over the pages of every forum, the confusion did not clear, in fact, in got worse. By the middle of the week I had registered here and decided to make an introduction post, including my trouble with this new confusion. I had the post all typed out and ready to send when something told me to wait. The next day during a troubled sleep, I sat straight up in the bed and I knew! I knew what lesson her death had for me.

When you are on a path of enlightenment, it is sometimes difficult to deal with the primative aspects of 'current' reality. You know in your heart that 'this' is not all there is and your mind continues to take you to a new reality, one you find more desirable than the one you live in. Often in pursuit of these new answers and lessons, our attention begins to waver from what is still considered 'real'. Like illness, financial dealings and relationships. The small details of everyday life that continually challenge even the most faithful! I believe, like myself in recent years, this is what happened to Linda. She spent more and more time on her teachings and the way she felt her reality should be and went into denial about everything else. All the teachings she has shared with us have great value and are moving all of humanity towards a new stage of evolution but she needed a lesson herself. To always, always remember to walk with balance between the known world and the many worlds beyond. She forgot that and so have many of us! Perhaps the universe, seeing this trend as a possible setback for the evolution of mankind, decided that Linda's death would serve as a wake up call to us all for many years to come. We must move ahead in our spiritual growth but we still have an obligation to the flesh. We are still human beings living in a physical world. The power of the mind is strong, even in the new testament Christ said of the miracles he performed, 'you too shall do all this and more'. But that power is not yet evolved to the point that we can ignore the tools and lessons already available to us. (i.e. diet, exercise, working with the current medical profession in addition to using newer techniques of healing). Linda Goodman's faith in her beliefs was admirable and I have much respect for her. I think she just let her attention to the 'whole picture', waver too long. I don't know if this lesson holds true for anyone else, but for me it came at a very critical time and is to date, the most important lesson she ever taught me! *Makes an appointment with my doctor to address a pressing health problem that I have been ignoring for some time. I've been so confident that I could create an instant healing from within that maybe I have overlooked some very real solutions already available.*

Thank you for providing this wonderful site

Ever since I read Linda Goodman's book and learned so much of the beyond, that I as well, have become more and more worried of my sanity. Becuase I can't figure out the line between fantasy and reality. I've become so doubtful of myself and in my capabilities that I'm very lost in this period of my life. I don't know where this will all take me and I'm afraid.
With dreams of the heart, I've experienced so many disappoinments and ridicule, becuase what I want seems impossible, but my heart keeps going on.
My heart doesn't know what to do anymore, I want something so bad, but the chances are dim and hopeless. I don't know which is fantasy and what is reality anymore. The doubt is just to heavy and harsh.

I have been told by an ex-friend that I live in a fantasy world and if I don't get a reality check I'll either commit suicide or go to an insane assylum.
Perhaps that is what brought me down and has kept me there.

Hi Lunamist
Try just staying around this website and reading some of the backdated stuff,it's fascinating and you might pick a few things that would be of comfort to you.
Hi Starlover 33,from someone else with pisces in their chart, there's nothing that bad about spending some time in a fantasy world,if this world was a better place to be then pisces people would'nt feel the need to escape to another one.

Lots of good stuff on those older pages. We've had to prune several times, so this site would have been HUGE!

Star, several Masters, including have said this world is only a dream. So you should take what you have been told about your beliefs as a compliment.

"Row row row your boat,
gently down the stream (avoid stress)
Merrily merrily merrily merrily (avoid anger)
Life is but a dream.

Welcome LunaMyst!

Mazz, Star --

I have Pisces Rising so I know what you mean about "fantasy" vs. "reality". As far as I'm concerned, let people tell me I'm a dreamer or "out of touch" with reality; I don't care, because my truth is that if I DIDN'T escape from what I see as a pretty harsh and cruel world sometimes into my metaphysical studies, I'd be locked up or 6 feet under by now.

"People say I'm a dreamer, but I'm not the only one..." ~ John Lennon

And Randall,

Just over the weekend, I saw Wayne Dyer quote the Row Your Boat song on a PBS program! He translated the first line:

"Row, row, row YOUR boat (not someone else's, not one other people THINK you should be rowing); but YOUR boat." I loved that!

I Love Wayne Dyer! He was dirt poor when he wrote his first book, and he put copies in his car and traveled the country visiting bookstores promoting it. If only he would learn about immortality. *sigh* Maybe he should read his best friend's book, Ageless Body, Timeless Mind.

Thanks LunaMyst for your compelling post! I'll be giving your amazing insight a lot of thought. I also only recently found this site <wave to All> AND learned about Linda's death, too. Your words remind me of Christ also saying that we are all "gods in the becoming".

You would feel right at home at my place. We have a sign on the inside of the front door that says "Warning, Beyond This Door Lies The Asylum!"

cheers!

I'm a dreamer too. My ex-boyfriend ridiculed me all the time for believing in "non-sense" and living in a fantasy world. I'm a pisces. Maybe I do live in my own world, but who cares? I'm a lot happier with life than he'll ever be.

wow luna... much of what you said, i can relate to. i thank you for your post, it was very nicely written and i really connected with your words. some of them mirror my own beliefs about the subject.

star lover, you have my support. i feel for what you are going through... have you done much astrology work, on your chart? i would look closely at saturn... he has wisdom. i do not see him as harsh and unforgiving like most astrologers seem to. i can relate to you in many ways too. i have sometimes had suicidal thoughts, and far in the past have acted on them (i almost did succeed once, but got pneumonia for my trouble *sigh*). my real life nickname is faery, and that might tell you a little about how i am... i often dont feel 'of this world'... not that im better or beyond it, i just sometimes dont feel like i fit in this world. perhaps i could share with you some of my experiences with how ive coped... i am at a place in life now where both the world and i compromise a little, but not enough to capitulate so its a win win. if you ever want to talk, look me up. i would look at your chart too, to see if i could help you in that respect. apologies if you have done that already, i dont know because i just joined here, and perhaps you have it under control... no biggie.

i love that wayne dyer quote, although i must confess i dont know who he is heh. its very good though.

all you pisces out there, never feel badly for being the wonderful people you are. we NEED you on this earth! i happen to have an affinity with pisces, i see so clearly the unique and beautiful things that pisces are so lucky to have. dont let anyone let you ridicule you. chances are, they are just jealous.

So nice to have finally found this site,
new to computerland.
Get tired of being told my thoughts and beliefs are "strange".
Loved Linda's books, don't even remember when I bought the first, just remember becoming addicted.
Does anyone remember the newletter???
I think the one thing I remember the most that made me believe was Money Mystique from Star Signs, many years ago, a little nun was collecting for an orphanage at are local grocery store at Christmas, I told her catch me on my way out, shopped and wrote check for $5 more than my order, for my lunch the next day, when i walked past her she asked again, all that i had was that 5$ bill, gave it to her, she said bless you, the next day in the mail was a check from my insurance company for a little over a $100.
I've lived that way ever since, from the beggar on the corner, asking for anything, some of my children understand (the Scorpios),some think I'm nuts. But Linda's books have been a big part of my life.

Glad to be here

Yeah, life can be difficult. Many people seem to compete for anything. My views can be out there and sometimes help people laugh - but then the people turn around and say what I said was crazy, but I'm like "well, you laughed!" My point is that many people miss the bigger picture. I think it's awesome to live somewhat in your own world, that way you won't be dissappointed much. The "real" world is sometimes very depressing. Its hard to maintain a level of "Pollyanna Optimism" in the face of so much humanity. I don't want to help bring everybody down, but at the end of the day, you're alive. This is very *cliche* but it's the ultimate truth.

I kind of like to distance myself from society - something I realised while reading Star Signs about the number 30. Most people seem to strive for attention or popularity (especially back in school) and I never realised why I didn't until I "met" Linda. For a while I saw magic everywhere, but I still resisted attention. I think sometimes it comes down to sensitivity. Whether we can handle open competition or just want to experience the game... I love the game, but I agree it can be hard.

I'm not sure what my point is but I feel that by living and constantly striving we CAN acheive anything - if not in this life, we have set up a good start for the next
