Can anyone do a chart to tell me about June 7 1:30PM 2004? I would like to get handfasted on this day and really need to know if that is right for me. Thank you so much for your time. I would really appreciate this!!!

Hi Alice,
I'd like to suggest that you post this question in the astrology forum, where those far more knowledgable about astrology than I can help you out a bit. But also, you'll want to provide birth data for those who are marrying.

June 7th 2004 is a Monday. With just a cursory glance, I'd say just be sure to tie the knot before 2:08, when the moon goes void-of-course. Also, Venus is Rx through the months of June, you might want to see how the planet of love affects your charts.

But again, those in the Astrology forum I'm sure would be able to help you more.
Best Wishes!

What is handfasted? Is that married, or does it mean something else? Second question: Am I dumb?

Greetings Randall...

No, not dumb, no question is ever grounds for that sort of accusation.

Handfasting is a Wiccan Wedding ceremony, presided over by a High Priestess in the Craft. As I understand it the couple must first live together for a year and a day before the cermony is performed, although I don't know if that is an official requirement.

"The word handfasting comes from the Old English word hansaelan, which means to fasten, bind, or tie; the early root of the word, sal, means rope. The Middle English Dictionary defines hond-festen, or hand-festen as "to betroth, unite; pledge oneself to." As well, the word wedding comes from the ancien Anglo-Saxon word bewedding, which was the contract to marry made with a verbal promise and a handshake." Magickal Weddings by Joy Ferguson This definition is a very good start at understanding a handfasting ceremony, the book is also very helpful for any couple wanting to handfast or just have a unique ceremony. In earlier times it was impossable for a coulple to live together without being married and a handfasting enabled them to make their final decision about eachother. For a year and a day this couple was married and if they wished to continue the bond they married once more in a church according to the laws of the time. Today many handfast because they do not like the idea of a legal wedding for whatever the reason may be or are willing to take the status common law. I want to handfast because I believe that the year before you marry is one of many trials and turbulations. It feels more managable if you do not feel trapped by a peice of paper. Alot of fear accompanies a major decision and this kind of union eliminates that kind of fear in us. I would like this to be my eternal vows and I know I need alot of security from him and myself for the first year. Did any of you know that some religons offer two kinds of weddings, one for your lifetime and anouther one for eternity? That is kind of what I'm doing now one wedding for a year, anouther for eternity!! Blessings on you all.

PS if you are still curious I suggest you find a copy of that book it gives alot of informations and some lovely vows

Thanks Alice, I enjoyed the information.

When I read your original post I thought you might have meant hand-fastened, like it was a sort of fancy way of becoming betrothed...

Yes it's going great. Everything is kina planning itself. Money showed up when I needed it most. ( I'd been out of work due to illness and was quite lacking funds to order the first nessesitys right away and then purchased a car for some friends in dire need ) So if anyone wondered if Linda's thoughts on money worked I can tell you that it has always worked for me even before I knew about it. I'm so excited !!! Thanx for asking, I'll keep you posted. (Everyone tells me it's still far off but there is so much to do it feels like it could be in a week. )
