Ladies and gentleman....
....someone asked a question on another thread about KNOWFLAKES....and while it was answered, along with additional information concering the origins of LINDALAND I thought it would be nice to give it a whole new thread, just in case anyone missed it.....all about where KNOWFLAKES & LINDALAND came from....
*The following was taken from another thread*
From LBM..... Hello. I originally posted on the "official" LG site many moons ago when it first opened its doors and a member there named Shagun coined the term. Since then, it's really flown!! So happy to see. LMB ********* ********* ********* From Rainbow~ LMB....what an excellent memory!!! I was about to post the same thing....I remember her well....(being there orginally, too, at the first Linda Goodman Website).... Shagunj was a real bubbly gal with tons of enthusiasm, and I remember being fascinated that she was all the way from India, with such a mastery of the English language......I missed her when I didn't see her on the forums, anymore....*sigh* I believe she was graduating from Unversity at that time... Great memory!!!Thanks for the trek down Memory Lane... Luv, Rainbow~ ********* ********* ********* Additional information from Rainbow~ And now folks, are you ready for this???? Do you know where LINDA LAND originally came from???? From me.............when I wrote a poem and posted it on Greg and Crystal's original site........... Prior to this, no reference was ever made to either site, as LINDA LAND (of course, Randall's site did not exist at that time) I am posting the poem now....from the original site......and..as with the term KNOWFLAKE, I also had no idea how my LINDA LAND would soar, when I wrote the poem, three years ago...... Here it is..... *** *** *** *** *** posted August 04, 1999 02:31 AM -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Well, I've taken the liberty of starting a new poets thread, as it looked like the last one was pretty full....... Trying my hand again...... @@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@

I'm sure you had no idea. But every great endevour starts with a few small baby steps. I'm always surprised at how things turn out. I never would have thought 5 years ago I'd be where I am now.IP: Logged |

That was really neat. I liked the poem too. You should be proud to be a founding member of a site that honors such a beloved lady as Linda. IP: Logged |

We owe it to ALL new Knowflakes to set an example of love, peace, and tolerance with each other. Too much fighting of late. A LEXIGRAM OF: ~KNOWFLAKES~ IP: Logged |

Moved here from Lexigram Magic:Sadly Fights continue to happen. WE are all here to talk about spiritual matters. Well, we are supposed to be here for that reason. However from what I have observed..... Sometimes it looks more like the monkeys in a zoo trying to throw sh!t at the humans. Add to that the potty humour overdone, and public sexual prowess displays, and breast beatings for domination, and posturings that scream "Look at us!" Well...spirituality is too often set aside for these silly and often cruel games. Fights happen. But some can work through them! Sadly not all. Some love the attention and drama and side choosing too much. EDIT/ADD September 29, 2006 I see more fights waiting in the wings, and attacks coming to some folks who do not deserve these attacks. There are a couple of dark storm clouds hiding beneath layers of puffy soft sunlit clouds. All that glitters is not gold and all who seem good are not. There will be losses and leavings and most at LL will never realize on the deeper and hidden levels, the behind the scene games, what is happening. Those who wear the rose colored glasses are too often drawn to the surface beauty and pretty words. Until honesty comes to LL the fights will continue, cliques will form and it will not be a safe harbor for all, but only the cliquish ones. The storms are coming and rainbows will not be here after those storms. As brash Beast is true and good, Beauty 'neath gentle guise can indeed be a Beast. To all old Knowflakes, be nice please. To all new Knowflakes. be careful who you trust until you really get to know them. Even a seemingly nice place as Lindaland has its emotional vampires. Clue here for newbies; the more they talk about themselves, the more dangerous they may be. Beware those who toot their own horns too much. Beware those who are too good to be true. Wow! Just like in the real world! I don't know if any elves can help this time. Good luck everyone. (BTW...I have "I AM A REAL FAIRY ELF" in my lexigrammed name.) To The Light of Truth, Love, and Compassion. PS. For definitions of ELAN and KOAN see(uncommon words used): http://www.linda-goodman.com/ubb/Forum8/HTML/001634.html

Sadly DfD started an attack on me with the aid of a popular Knowflake a few weeks later. As I leave today..September 29th.2006, I realize DfD was merely a pawn used by the real attacker to open an attack thread upon my character that did not make it clear who was the true besmircher. Goodbye to all until who knows when or if. IP: Logged |
