And since the above Linda Goodman's Love Signs sign quote is in the Gemini-Gemini section I shall blow up two balloons...

LEVON - ELTON JOHN

And he shall be a Goodman,
He shall be Levon.

Levon 'sells cartoon balloons' in town,
His family business thrives.
Jesus blows up balloons all day,
Sits on the porch swing watching them fly,

And Jesus, he wants to go to Venus,
Leaving Levon far behind;
Take a balloon,
And go sailing...

quote:

Linda Goodman's Love Signs - (2nd) Excerpt from the Gemini-Gemini section:

Only a Gemini could have parlayed a patched-up sack of old hopes into the Giant Twin Jackpot of "Around the World in 80 Days" and Elizabeth Taylor - a double win that ended that Gemini's restless search for completeness.

Shortly afterwards, his Libra son, Mike Todd, Jr., remarked, "Dad, you're spending money now as fast as you did when you didn't have any." Mike never saved for a rainy day, so for him, it never rained. Well, maybe a few very brief drizzles. A couple of spring showers, that's all. Mike Todd didn't discover the Neverland. He invented it. Like Peter Pan, the eternal Gemini, he guarded the secret of his age from curious chronological-minded "grown-ups" - and a few more secrets besides.

At least 75 percent of all Geminis have a nickname, a pseudonym, an alias, or in some way bear more than one name during the course of their lives, and Mike had two names also. Born Avrom Hirsch Goldbogen, he named himself Michael Todd one day, impulsively, and for no really special reason. His son had already been born and had been named Michael. So Gemini Mike Todd actually named himself after his own son and became his son's namesake, instead of the other way around. Trust Geminis to turn things inside out and backwards, in both small and large ways.

As for Mike's "secret" the reporter guessed correctly he held within himself, the Gemini man or woman isn't secretive in the same manner as Pisceans, Cancerians and Scorpions are - or for the same reasons. It's just that there are some soaring thoughts they're unable to catch and express in speech, for all their Mercurial verbal dexterity.

"Up on Cripple Creek she sends me
If I spring a leak she mends me
I don't have to speak, she defends me
A Drunkard's Dream if I ever did see one..."

Up On Cripple Creek - Levon & The Band

LEVON - ELTON JOHN

And he shall be a Goodman,
And he shall be Levon,
In tradition with the family plan,
And he shall be Levon,
And he shall be a Goodman,

Levon sells cartoon balloons in town,
His family business thrives.
Jesus blows up balloons all day,
Sits on the porch swing watching them fly,

And Jesus, he wants to go to Venus,
Leaving Levon far behind;
Take a balloon,
And go sailing...

quote:

From Linda Goodman's LOVE SIGNS - SCORPIO Man & PISCES Woman:

"Everything was wild and free and windswept then, like running barefoot through green meadows of sweet grass . . . falcons flying overhead, and a thousand pink-peppermint striped circus balloons floating all around them . . . when they both knew they could soar around the world in eighty days, as the lark flies . . . measured by a moment in eternity, flashed by lightning . . . when "home" was the circle of each other's arms.

Like all 5-9 Sun-Sign-Patterned lovers everywhere, Pisces and Scorpio, in the beginning, would have sacrificed Kingdoms for their Grand Passion - defied whole Universes to be together."

We really really enjoyed it. In the book and miniseries, Shirley MacLaine chronicles her spiritual journey.
It looks like you can watch the miniseries for FREE on YouTube...

Frank Sinatra's 1964 recording of "Fly Me to the Moon" became closely associated with NASA's Apollo space program. A copy of the song was played on the Apollo 10 mission which orbited the Moon. It became the first music heard on the Moon when played on a portable cassette player by Apollo 11 astronaut Buzz Aldrin after he stepped onto the Moon.

I'm pretty sure Linda Goodman knew Frank Sinatra.

If I remember right, one time Linda brought young Michael Goodman out with her and Frank Sinatra called over to Linda Goodman and in effect said, "Linda, your son can really hold a tune."

I didn't think it was a surprising 'Wow'-- or luck.

I was thinking maybe it had more to do the pedigree of having two parents who were employed in the radio.

quote:

WCOM went on the air Sept. 6, 1947 from studios on Ninth Street. It operated on 1230 kc, with 250 watts full time. The transmitter and the Truscon self-supporting tower was located off New York Avenue, in the vicinity of Mt. Olivet. Dick Cotterman was the next General Manager, followed in the early '50’s by Audra Archer, who remained as manager until 1960. Buford "Red" Barickman was first Chief Engineer, and upon his recall to service during the Korean War, was replaced by Bill Collins. Jack See became Program Director in 1951, and left in 1955 to help put WTAP-TV, Parkersburg on the air.

Some of the early announcers included Tom Neale, also with WTAP-TV and WCHS-TV Charleston. John Simpson, Harold McWhorter, Marsh McCarty, Alex Mumford and Sam Goodman. In 1953, Mary Alice Kemery, a Parkersburg girl, came with WCOM as continuity writer and traffic director.

It was here she met Sam Goodman, and they later married in Pittsburgh, where they were both working. Mary Alice is better known as Linda Goodman, world-renowned astrologer and author of the 1968 book "Sun Signs...

(Does that say "traffic director"?...lol... )

"Red lights, Green lights...
A Good friend of mine, follows the stars –
Venus and Mars are alright tonight..."

I would have to agree with Sinatra that Michael can carry a tune. I've heard him sing many a tune--either serenading me or singing along with me to the radio.

For example when we hang up on Skype or the phone, Mike likes to sing Carol Burnett's closing theme song to me:

"I'm so glad we had this time together
Just to have a laugh or sing a song
Seems we just get started and before you know it
Comes the time we have to say, "So long."

Then like Carol Burnett he'll tug his ear, which was Carol's silent message for her grandmother who raised her, and meant she was thinking of her at that moment.

Even while listening to Michael's speaking voice, I occasionally wonder why he isn't a DJ on the radio.

Bill, Michael's brother, can also carry a tune. He can carry a tune on the guitar too.

In other words...Bill is both an excellent guitar player and vocalist.

In fact, Bill serenaded Michael last year for his birthday with his rendition of the late Hawaiian musician, Israel Kamakawiwo'ole's version of "Over the Rainbow" and he had both me and Mike in tears we were so moved by his song.
