Is it possible? Manipulating the threads that weave up the web of time and space, and allow your physical body to transcend through the barriers of its engimatic illusion? And what potential dangers/consequences might lay in wait for the insatiably curious wanderer brave/foolhardy enough to dare break through the barriers that confine mortal wanderlust to the physical and empirical reality? Anyone? ------------------ ^^^Once bitten, twice shy^^^ ***The Vampire Annie*** IP: Logged |

Randall? You're not hiding some vital information from me, are ya? Well, I did some reading on it, and apparently I'd have to travel faster than the speed of light to go back in time. Argh ^_^ But I figure that I'll rely on my faith for the supernatural for this one; I figure there's probably a better chance that I'll discover some flawed stiching in the veil separating the natural from the supernatural and transcend through that...sometimes blind faith can work better than any empirical scientific solution ------------------ ^^^Once bitten, twice shy^^^ ***The Vampire Annie*** IP: Logged |

It's possible..., never forget that EVERYTHING is possible...But it needs lots of training, and a strong will... I once did it unconciousslly..., and it was good...

Time is an illusion of mass Consciousness that we all create to keep the Eternal Now in order. I feel that time travel can be as easy as willing it so. ------------------ "He who is devoid of the power to forgive is devoid of the power to love." Martin Luther King, Jr. IP: Logged |

And, of course, there's a science to it as well. What do you think would happen if we traveled to the past and altered an important event? ------------------ "He who is devoid of the power to forgive is devoid of the power to love." Martin Luther King, Jr. IP: Logged |

I think the future in this timeline would be unchanged; to alter the past would just create a new alternate timeline. ------------------ "He who is devoid of the power to forgive is devoid of the power to love." Martin Luther King, Jr. IP: Logged |

So, if someone traveled in history and changed it (as in preventing the Kennedy shooting, for example), then that reality would branch off in a new direction--but Kennedy would still be dead to all of us in this reality. Hehe, sorry, Randall. I'd been experimenting and accidentally transported myself back to the 1300s...where there were no computers OK, so let's say if I were to travel back, oh, a hundred years, to Paris, and eloped with the Phantom of the Opera (mwa ha ha ha), I'd be creating a whole new universe, in a way...the threads of history in the universe I'd altered will spin into a whole different tapestry, so a hundred years later there'd be no famous musical about the tragic love affair, and so forth, but back in this universe, things will go on as they'd always been, only that it would appear that I'd mysteriously disappeared off the face of the Earth, right? So...Randall...is there any way I can possibly travel back in time using the force of my mind and my desire to do so alone? I don't think I can manage to build and operate a space shuttle capable of doing that...^_^ ------------------ ^^^Once bitten, twice shy^^^ ***The Vampire Annie*** IP: Logged |

I think we can all travel to any point in time with nothing but our Consciousness, but it's something well out of our grasp for the time being. Science will likely discover the "secret" as far as physics go, and one day we may even have field trips to the past (since there is no danger of altering it). About creating Uni-verses, we all do that anyway--everytime we make a major (and sometimes even minor) decision, we alter the entire future of the world, because we change our part in it. We create a new Eternal Now for us. It's subtle and seldom felt, but it's just easier to see the difference if one were to travel to the past and create an obvious new alternate reality. One could then travel to the future of the new timeline or back to the frequency of the one left. Likewise, if someone were to accvidently kill your grandparents, you would not exist in that reality at all, but you would not just disappear in the current one (as some sci fi writers hypothesize). ------------------ "Never mentally imagine for another that which you would not want to experience for yourself, since the mental image you send out inevitably comes back to you." There was a decision that I made in the past that I did not like and I always felt that I was hung up in that time period with negative energies. So one day I made a conscious change in that past. I just decided that I could change the past and I went and did it and I felt great! If one changes their pictures of the past does that mean that he is no longer karmically affected? Say, what if he stole, feels bad about it, and he has the pictures in his mind of doing it and then he consciously goes back and ernestly changes those pictures...Wow! it's ideas like that that I like to fall asleep by.Nite, nite, folks!
