I didn't actually answer this question (of the best thing) because it is quite deep (plus I kept forgetting to, not that I know the best thing).

I would say... watching the Earth and its inhabitants grow. I love seeing new technology come out, and learning new discoveries, so being immortal would allow this for ever, which I could live with

However, its also double edged because we will always re-learn how the Earth must re-learn mis-takes like polution, greed, etc. I don't mean the Earth does anything negative, but the powers that be do. Anyone know about December 23, 2012? Maybe it should be its own thread.

I think a part of me wants to leave after the average time though, as I think life will get pretty boring.

I'm all to curious about what's happening to our world, to humans... not to be immortal is out of the question.

The best thing is to see other improve themselves into a caring and loving life.

The worst is to see loved ones moving on into other dimentions which many calles 'to die' and they don't recognise you as they rebirth.

December 23 2012 is apparantly the "end of the world" according to the Mayans and "science". The date is mentioned in "The Mayan Prophecies" as the end of the fifth age. Each age, and pretty much all Mayan cycles are concerned with the sun's sunspot cycles. See, there are four quarters of the sun which have magnetic flux. The way the flux moves creates fields and sunspots. A sunspot is like a magnet itself (or so this theory goes) in that the plus end is one spot, and the negative the other spot. On close up, sunspots occur in pairs for this reason. One explanation of sunspots is that it's like a rubber band stretched around the sun. It's stretched so much that the band forms parallel lines. After further stretching, the lines some closer together until the "end of the band" (ie. a loop) spurts millions of miles out of the sun creating the blasts molecules that can even reach Earth - what we call Northern Lights or Solar Flares. These blasts occur according to the cycles of the "rubber bands", of which the Mayans studied extensively. There are many cycles. The most important one will end on the date mentioned above. The theory goes that at the end of this cycle, the magnetic field of the sun has completely reversed. The change in magnetism eventually forces our magnetism to flip, which then causes and opposing inductance effect - ie. when there is current, there is a force. If the current flows backwards, the force flips also, hence mountains become lakes, and Oceans become deserts - that sort of thing. Apparantly the Earths field has already flipped. This is where I question things. Some people say our field flips every ten thousand years, and I don't think this causes problems, as what I think they're reffering to is separate "domains" of our core, not the entire core itself, until now. So, I'm hoping to stay alive at least until 2013 to see what happens.

I'm sorry if I've scared anyone, it's just all theory and can be read in "The Mayan Prophecies" (along with other great theories to do with the lost history of Maya, etc.)

I thought 2012 was a good thing, and not the end of life. I read somewhere that that's when humans in general gets lifted into a higher...ah..dimension, I think. Something like, the moeny system that we know now will be gone, and that there will be no more time?
