After reading Trillian's comments on the free-for-all/makeup thread, I thought I'd check this out. If I can be of help in the 'broken capillaries' dept., I should say, as far as they go, once they are broken, that is it. You can fade them by trying a Vitamin K solution. Some specialty products ( like NeoStrata) have formulas with vit.K. They are good for bruising, discolourations, 'bags' under the eyes. (they give newborns an injection of Vitamin K to help with blood clotting) You could have a condition called Rosasea, if you notice excessive redness, spreading from your nose to cheeks. It is very common, and can be treated. Always use a sunscreen! Lasers have shown lotsa' success in zapping the broken capillaries. Good luck in whatever you do.IP: Logged |

Hi Everyone! I'm new to this board and any subject on skin/body care grabs my attention...wanted to comment on tobygrrl's question about clearing up acne - get some tea tree essential oil (it's pretty inexpensive) take a Q-tip and dab a small amount only in the very center of the blemish. Avoid getting it on non-acne areas; it won't hurt your unaffected skin, but does have a drying tendency. Keep applying daily until it goes away. Do a test first either behind your ear or inner elbow for sensitivity.

Tea tree oil is the world's greatest natural antiseptic. Also a good antibacterial. ------------------ "Never mentally imagine for another that which you would not want to experience for yourself, since the mental image you send out inevitably comes back to you." Rebecca Clark IP: Logged |

Oregano oil is also very good as an antiseptic (but it can burn the skin). ------------------ "Never mentally imagine for another that which you would not want to experience for yourself, since the mental image you send out inevitably comes back to you." Rebecca Clark IP: Logged |

proactiv does work...i used to use it as a teen, then weaned myself off of it after a couple years of use. i have very oily skin, but i really find not overcleansing with soaps is good...i rinse once or twice a day with just water, and do occasional exfoliations and mud masks...i will definitely try this Vit E and orange combo...sounds wonderful!! thank you all!! also, burts bees makes a carrot oil in a bottle called complexion mist i think that you can mist on your face....works wonders for lines and sun exposed skin!! and yes, Kiss My Face is also a great line of products! Dr. Bronner's is pretty good too, but i personally find it too drying to use everyday, all over...but Dr. Bronner's tea tree oil and peppermint soaps are a treat and will wake up your scalp and 'other spots'....so be careful.... I used Proactiv for awhile once, didn't work at all for me. Was a real rip-off.------------------ "Out of your depth or not, it's up to you whether you sink or swim." IP: Logged |

really? well, everyone's skin is different. honestly, i think the best anti acne medicine is healthy diet, lots of water and to reduce stress. all in all that is what got the best, most long lasting results for me.

Proactiv has a lot of success stories, but I guess there are always exceptions. ------------------ "Never mentally imagine for another that which you would not want to experience for yourself, since the mental image you send out inevitably comes back to you." Rebecca Clark IP: Logged |

Okay, I really want to try this, but I have a slight problem. I have very sensitive skin and Vitamin E makes me break out in a little rash on my face. I can use creme containing Vitamin E, but when I tried the old "break a capsule and put it on your face" it made me look like a strawberry. LOLShould I look for a Vit E creme with a lower amount of the vitamin? Thank you IP: Logged |

you know ance is completely psychological. i had it for years and mysteriously it cleared up when i met my true love. i tried every product under the sun, i found this range called zena cosmetics was the best. very expensive but it did wonders. i think it just comes down to you not being happy with yourself or something. mine literally disappeared over about 2 months, and i'd had it for 5 years. i hope you find your cure !IP: Logged |

Pid, why don't you give that a try? I don't use a pure E oil, it has some other wonderful things in it...I'll find it on the web for you later.I've been using this mixture with the orange oil for months now and love it love it love it love it. My skin is better than ever. IP: Logged |

I used Proactiv w/ good results - I would have liked to see quicker results, but it did work over time.I actually do think the person who mentioned that an individual's frame of mind may be part of the problem is onto something there. IP: Logged |

hi all,i'd been wanting to try this out for a long time, so i finally did it over the weekend. i bought a small tub of rite aid drugstore brand vitamin e cream with 20,000 iu for $5.00. it's pretty thick, and i tend to prefer lighter moisturizers, so i mixed 1/2 cream and 1/2 aloe vera gel purchased from trader joe's for $3.00, into a small jar. then i mixed in about 14 drops of orange essential oil bought from body time in a 5 ml bottle for $6.00. the cream smells really wonderful and absorbs well without too much heaviness. my skin felt very soft. i definitely like this much better than other products i've used. i think i have enough product to last 6 months, which is a good way to stretch out resources. cheers, aphrodite ------------------ Love all, trust a few.
