so many questions, so many questions- you all dont mind do you? for those of us still in our teens and twenties- i dont really want to look any younger! so do i still visualize my cells spiraling backwards? do i picture them stopping when i'm happy with the age i'm projecting? its funny, when i read about immortality, it was able to ring so true with me, because she described people hundreds of years old looking like 20 year olds-- i constantly get asked my age (people really are obsessed about that illusionary number, aren't they?) because i suppose i could pass for a middle schooler if i wanted, it used to really frustrate me, but now i just smile like i'm 300! thankyou namaste IP: Logged |

Welcome to Linda Land. And welcome to immortality. Yup, peeps are obsessed w. age ... walk into a chat room and it's ASL, please. And a million other instancs that I can't think of right now, due to this blasted headache that's making me feel my age, but shhhhhh In my mind (I don't know about the other immortals), I make the distinction between reverse spiraling and my appearance. Sure, they are related, but not exactly the same. The reverse spiraling exercises are important; as for your appearance, visualize yoursElf however it is that you want to look. Good luck and keep us posted ------------------ "The reason why birds can fly and man cannot is simply that they have perfect faith; for to have faith is to have wings." ~JM Barrie IP: Logged |

alright thanks grasshopper! i guess its just important to convince those cells to be where we want them to be. i can see how KNOWING immortality to be true is the biggest step... i KNOW it but others arent so sure. the aquarians in my life are easy to convince, and they're prolly the ones that will try it out, but my scorpio thinks im nuts, not just because i believe in immortality, but because i might not want to die! silly scorpio looking forward to a little death, living forever doesnt appeal to him at all! i told him he could always bite the big one if he feels it necessaryIP: Logged |

I have often tried to make myself very young, but there are more forces at work than those of the conscious mind. If my Higher Self decides that being a baby again would be counterproductive to my spiritual growth, it is not going to let that happen. Being old (on the surface) might be what the doctor ordered for spiritual growth, so you may find yourself going that way for a time. PI is only really about getting rid of reincarnation, not about the fountain of youth per-se. You could be PI and old looking, or young, or a baby, or whatever, and it is only as important as you want or need it to be. The only thing that PI changes in the end is the coffin to womb path of spiritual growth.IP: Logged |

So, does that mean that if someone 450 years old can make themselves look 20 forever, shouldn't the reverse be true? A young aspiring immortal, such as a 16-year-old, can make themselves look 21 and remain 21 for the rest of eternity? And is it really possible to "restructure" yourself so that, in the instance that you are an immortal unhappy with your appearance, sculpt yourself differently so suit your vanity? I'm confused. Yes, it's possible to accelerate the spiraling of "aging" if you want to. There are known instances of this here and there. Regarding sculpting your appearance ala Tzimisce (gambling you'll follow that reference), I honestly try not to think of my physical appearance too much .....(Looks in the mirror and smiles that charming twinkly-eyed libran smile framed in the Leo-nine majesty) ..... because then I just get an uncontrolable and completely unjustified ego rush!!! Still . let me offer some caution. I choose to look how I remember I looked when I was 22 (before immortality if you'll allow). I think that's subtley different than trying to look how you "picture" you will in the future. It traps your brain in the thinking that a twenty year old looks thusly, or that a fifty year old looks thusly. Nevertheless, I say go ahead and accelerate your spirals a bit if you decide that you want to ... but be mindful! ------------------ "The reason why birds can fly and man cannot is simply that they have perfect faith; for to have faith is to have wings." ~JM Barrie IP: Logged |

>shouldn't the reverse be true?Yes the reverse is true. A young person can accelerate their aging. When I am in a bad mood I do it all the time (then fix up my boo-boos later) >And is it really possible to "restructure" >yourself...sculpt yourself differently so >suit your vanity? Ack. No. Vanity is very evil. The problem with vanity is it is never content with what it has, it always wants more. An immortal has to be pure, and that means no vanity. The reason an immortal has to be pure is that immortality would be unbearable if you were not pure. Marius the vampire of Anne Rice fame, teaches that you cannot kill against your conscience, kill the innocent, because the guilt, spread over an eternity, makes your existence unbearable. By the sake token, impurities like vanity leave you permanently unsatisfied for eternity. Other than the vanity problem, yes, you can sculpt yourself to your hearts content. Why not? But only after karmic obligations to look a certain way are cleared. I for instance have a karmic obligation to have rosacea. Becoming immortal, I now look like an 18-20 year guy with rosacea. You cannot hide from your appearance karma. Ack. IP: Logged |

linda definately put a bit of emphesis on the APPEARENCE of immortality, perhaps because that catches our interest, or perhaps she's just showing that strong Aries influence in her chart again-- she's so funny like that she makes me laugh IP: Logged |

I would not put too much trust in someone trying to focus unduly on my appearance, how I look, whether myself or others looking at me. I have found nothing but apprehension and misery in vanity, in caring what I look like. To a point I can wash my clothes, brush my teeth, comb my hair, but I cannot look like what society wants. My meditations/exercises to be immortal are often successes but when I look in the mirror I fail to attain what my vanity wants to attain. I look young, but not cherubically fresh out of the womb young. My expression is somber, mature and serious even if my features are young. There is a complete failure to look innocent or "fresh" anymore, which is what my vanity wants. From experience, I think vanity is the great Enemy. It says you cannot be loved/love yourself until you attain a certain "standard" and that is not the unconditional love to which one should aspire.IP: Logged |

I think vanity is bad too, it's a big flaw of mine to worry about what I look like obsessively. ------------------ Food is the only art that nourishes! IP: Logged |

All girls suffer from vanity and unfortunatley so do I. Usually, when I'm at school there will be plenty of girls in the bathroom mirror and I've realized no matter how hard you try, you need to look in the mirror.I think it's healthy just as long as it doesn't become so consuming. Like you know for some girls out there. :sigh: StarLover IP: Logged |
