Do you know the trilogy, "Conversations With God"? Well, I wanna know how to talk to God too. How? I tried. I sat down in my room and tried. But....you know how Neale Walsch (the author) just wrote a question and the answer would come up in his head? Well how do you know if you're not just making it up? Because usually when i write, i try to make it sound pleasing because i know that someone will read it. But that last time...i wrote EXACLTY what came to my mind...it was soooo super weird because my hand never paused so that i could think of the next phrase to write...i just wrote and wrote and sentences just started popping up in my head....how do you know if that is you writing that stuff...or God?IP: Logged |

This is like everything else a circle I think the point is to meditate on what you write and decide how much it affects you. I find a lot of my thoughts have no real affect, so I discard them. Since the end justifies the means, the resulting action or thought could be you or god, hence the questions ultimately arbitrary. Some affects may not kick in for a while, so in the present you may think these thoughts were unimportant, but who's to say? I love watching ants walking around. They all seem to know exactly where they're going... woops, I'm slipping off the topic... ------------------ Love and Light to aLL My numerology program according to "Star Signs" by LG. IP: Logged |

So did the author of 'conversations with god' actually talk to god, or did he make all that up? How did he know it was god and not himselfIP: Logged |

As I see it, everybody, everything is perfect in "their" own world, Nobody is right , nobody is wrong, everything just is!.....We are all God, or part of the universal energy..some refer to as God...were are all playing marbles on this earth....and if a person thinks they are recieving messages straight from the "source"..well golly gee they are!! Good point Kerry,If god is omnipotent, omnipresent and omniscient then, how could anything not be of god or from god. Even nothingness must be so, in omnipresence... Or, as Richard Bach writes in the end of one of his great books, or everything here could be wrong. IP: Logged |

I think one has to practice for some time before one can feel certain that the response is divine.Theoretically, that's unnecessary of course -- with perfect faith and acceptance, a first time is enough for some. Like trillian says, you are God -- your inner sELF and soul, are all God too -- so if you are communicating through one of these, in your case by writing, then that must be God too. You are both the instrument of God, and God too. Your spirit has not been taken over, you are just transmitting a flow in a natural, direct way. But most of us have to try a spiritual method many times before we are sure. Just because we have been ignoring our sELVES and own soul so constantly in the noise and bustle of our day to day lives that we are shocked at how simple everything is when we just listen and pay quiet attention, and allow the flow. To add a note, the Eastern Orthodox Christian faith venerate icons of patron saints and, and many icons exist that represent various feast days. Icon essentially translates as "Window to God." Pious Orthodox theology also maintains that each of us is an icon ... it's just a dirty window. Yup, the essence of God and divinity is within all of us. That bar to communcication just might mean that we need some Windex and elbow grease to see it clearly.------------------ "The reason why birds can fly and man cannot is simply that they have perfect faith; for to have faith is to have wings." ~JM Barrie IP: Logged |

Interesting information, Grasshopper! Half my birthfamily was Eastern Orthodox, but I know very little about it.But it also made me chuckle -- because from that we could derive new Lindaland slogans -- like "Lindaland, online Windex for Your Streaky Soul!" Lunargirl IP: Logged |

I think we tend to over think.stop thinking, and it will come. Perhaps the egyptians had the right idea- No, not removing the brain after death. stopping the thought process so that intuition could expand. Of course, I'm making a hypothesis which is easily disproved. But it's a thought.
