In the October 27th issue of The New Yorker there is an article called Everlasting, by Ian Frazier. In the article, he writes about the death of his 90-year-old uncle and argues that no one should ever have to die, as long as he takes care of himself (or herself). Mr. Frazier seems like a rather eccentric person from what he tells about himself, but this is still very significant, since mainstream journalism doesn't give a lot of coverage to ideas like immortality.Unfor., tNY doesn't publish its contents online, so I can't link the story, but if anyone reads it or has a chance to pick one up, scan it and tell me whether Mr. Frazier is joking. Thanks! ------------------ "Never mentally imagine for another that which you would not want to experience for yourself, since the mental image you send out inevitably comes back to you." Rebecca Clark IP: Logged |
