I was just wondering- if you did become immortal, and you were a woman, would you go through menopause? Would you be unable to reproduce for the rest of your life after your mid-fifties? I'm pretty sure Linda didn't mention anything about this in the immortality chapter, but I'm really curious. On one hand, it would kind of suck not to be able to have children after only fifty years. On the other hand, eternal life with menstruation? Not exactly appealing. If the rest of the body were to regenerate, then obviously the ovaries would too- but I'm just wondering if anyone else has a different theory. ------------------ "Out of your depth or not, it's up to you whether you sink or swim." Dear Everlong...Becoming really Inmortal allows you to do many things. You also can procreate without sex IP: Logged |

Actually, Linda did address this. She said the menstrual cycle is Karmic in nature and has no relation to fertility (correlational only). Yes, they stop, but (as evidenced in medical literature) one can continue to bear children. The reason this is not common is due to the body breaking down from aging, not the cessation of the menses. ------------------ "Never mentally imagine for another that which you would not want to experience for yourself, since the mental image you send out inevitably comes back to you."
