Just out of curiousity, why would you want to be immortal? To see your family and loved ones all die, sounds WHOLLY depressing. I can understand wanting to live a nice long life 80-100 years, but past that....

Death definitely has its uses. Often it is the only hope that people have to be delivered from a tyrant. That's why leaders get assassinated.
The Catholic church allows you to pray for the death of a person if there is no other way to escape from their oppression.

When loved ones eventually see that someone they love has stopped aging, they then have the option of choosing immortality too because then they will know.

You will see a lot of people die anyway.

I want to be immortal because a "normal" life span isnt nearly long enough for me to do all that I want to do. I can't stand the idea of not being around to see the world change. I'm fine with dying, I just don't want to! I really enjoy the thought of maintaining a youthful body because of the freedom I would have (do have). I hate limitations. I understand what you mean about watching your loved ones pass away, however like sugarlightning said, chances are they'll catch on eventually and want to try it too. My child will certainly be informed about this, and allowed to make their own descision, of course. Anyway the longer Im around, the wiser and more helpful to the world I'll be. And I'll be a living example that immortality is possible.

*by the way, malkouf thats very interesting. I wonder why pray for death rather than some kind of intervention, to end the influence of someone like that?

This came about when a group of us were testing a spiritual advisor. We came up with more and more impossible hypothetical situations and challenged him to deal with them through prayer. Finally he acknowledged that the death of the oppressor is sometimes the only solution.

True Randall, but one would see more people die if you lived longer, and possibly even you own children!

I believe that our lives are the perfect length for us, we have plenty of time to work out the necessary karma, and then finally return to the fold for the next adventure.

Seeing loved one's pass away is something I can accept, not enjoy, but accept.

The law of attraction promises that I will re-unite with the ones I love again, and again, and again, just in a different disguise that only I would recognize.

Weee, that rhymes... almost...

I have given this a lot of thought.

Hi

I don't particularly like this planet. There are better places to go. I would like a rest, a long rest between lives please.

Along with working on immortality a person should also concetrate on spirituality, then they'll view death of the loved ones for what it is. An illusion.

Unfortunately if you think your friends never go away you have also to accept that the people you don't want will also be hanging around indefinitely.

I'm surprised that you are thinking about death at all... Keep those egos in check.

Well, a number of people thought Hitler was a wonderful person. Eva and his mother probably loved him very much. Just as well they weren't doing any spiralling. (Or maybe they were)

So, the logic is that immortality is bad because we have to continue to deal with the "bad" people of the world? It doesn't seem to hold water, to me.

That is the qualifying question: Are you saying that immortality is bad bc of the bad people we have to deal with?

Let's face it, about 98% of the population living today will die either because they want to or they just don't know about the other option. However, for the more enlightened people on Earth, for the people who know about immortality death becomes a choice. What is good for me, isn't good for you, and so on and so forth. Personally, I want to live forever, I don't want to lose this body I have. I have had hundreds upon hundreds of lives even on other planets, and frankly death becomes a chore.

I'll tell you exactly what happens when you die, you come back to life, and then if you die again, you come back to life...again and again and again. Never going to hell, but never reaching heaven either. You keep doing it until you finally realize what your soul purpose was.

Let me tell you a little secret, if you haven't read Star Signs. To become an Ascended Master, to stop the never ending cycle, you must ultimately conquer death. Once you conquer death and some side missions, and there are plenty of those side missions, you can finally ascend to the heavens keeping the memory of who you are and your body in place. The problem with death is you lose your memory, everything you once knew goes down the drain, and it become a daunting task to try and retrace those steps once more. However, not everyone is ready, people still have to die, but I'm telling you right now, ultimately every single person on this Earth will be immortal, and they are right now except they don't know it yet. The truth is none of us know who we really are. Immortality is the fastest way of achieving that knowledge and finding your place in heaven.

This planet in particular is plagued by the idea of death. It is a disease on this planet. In other planets, death is completely unheard of, the idea of death is laughed at. Here we treat it like it's the ultimate. That is really sad. I hope you know that the future of this planet is really hanging on a thread, but it will be saved ultimately by the spirits who have always remained here to love and protect it. Don't worry we'll still be around by the Age of Capricorn. I can't help but wonder what that will be like? Randall, you're a Capricorn any ideas?

I'm serious Randall, any ideas about the age of Capricorn? I can't help but think far ahead sometimes.
