Like I said a long time ago, this thread feels like a highway in time. Seasons pass with shifting breezes, but there remains poignant connections that no current wind may be strong enough to carry away.

Lovely indeed That photo almost looks like my hometowns view over the lakes in late autumn. Thanks lialei! ------------------ ~ What we do for ourselves dies with us. What we do for others and the world is immortal"~ - George Eliot IP: Logged |

I would guess it is a Thomas Kinkade piece. My mother (and mothers everywhere it seems) likes him. He calls himself the Painter of Light and his work is pastel and soothing to an extent. I wanted to give the link to his site but they won't let me enter it unless I accept cookies and I won't do it for just any site so they are out of luck. If you Google his name you can go to the site though. The Wikipedia article calls him commercial etc because he mass produces his art but it seems he also has raised a great deal of money for charities too and if the art makes people happy and sends dying kids to Disney Land too, then I'm going to give it a big . It certainly isn't at all offensive and the colors are very pretty.

I have a feeling the pic was artificially created...although I'm sure places of such beauty do exist.------------------ "Don't worry about the world coming to an end today. It's already tomorrow in Australia." Charles Schultz IP: Logged |

Is it just me, or have those swans been photo-shopped into the image??? There are absolutely no ripples in the water! Aside from that niggling concern, how awesome is nature?! IP: Logged |
