I would imagine you would stop getting freckles and the others would disappear as well. Unless those freckles aligned somehow with your spirit. Hmm I can't for sure tell you though, try it and find out =)

Freckles fade with age to merge and form one giant freckle called an "age spot!

Of course not in my case as I have been respiraling for years and just have a peachy face!!

I will be 54 soon. My freckles are still here.
A natural part of being a green/gold eyed redhead who does not tan ever. The only thing that fades freckles is staying out of the sun.
It takes only a short time in the sun to darken them.

Thanks for all of the replies.

I'm dark haired, with light to medium skin. I get these freckles from the sun, seemingly instantly. They are not all dark and big, some are very hard to see and light. I am only 20, I'll be 21 though in two weeks, but nevertheless, I have some sun damage going on. I limit my time in the sun, but continue to notice more freckles all the time.

I am still in the beginning of agelessness. So, I guess I'll just see what happens!

I don't know. Sometimes it's hard to phrase a question on these forums....

Something like 80% of skin aging is caused by the sun and not lying out in it but the cumulative everyday exposure that you get just pottering about.
When I first lived in S.Africa I thought the sun was fantastic until I looked at peoples skin. Young girls with wrinkles and age spots and I thought
"No bunnies! That is not going to be you!

Then I saw a photograph that a dermatologist (Dr Albert Kligman USA) took of the facial skin of a 2 yr old boy and compared it with the facial skin of an 80 yr old woman.
Well you can imagine.

Then he took a sample of the skin of the buttocks (no sun exposure) of both of them and....there was no discernible difference.
So the dried up river bed 80 yr old skin was caused by sun exposure.

So for 20 yrs I have not gone a day without a facial sun block. And I don't think my skin looks any different than it did 20 yrs ago.

Sun blocks are brilliant now.
I believe that in the USA you don't do the 5* UVA rating like we do in the UK but basically these would protect you in a nuclear explosion!

The upshot is. No sun, no freckles, no skin aging.

O geez! i love the sun!!! obviously, the only thing to do is to use preventive measures, but I still hope I can reverse some of this sun damage.

And you know what?.... I have read before that sun blocks and high levels of spf are incredibly toxic.... I'll try to find something floating around the internet on this subject and post up here.

Thank you, Bunnies!!! (love bunnies)

Fear not honey!
The damage is reversible. I fried myself when I was younger. Olive oil and vinegar or baby oil and iodine!
I was a veritable sizzling surface.

For Gods sake we live in the UK. Limit your sun exposure gradually starting with 5 mins a day???
HAH! are you kidding?
Every true Brit knows we get one week of sun a year and not necessarily in the same month.
So a British suntan is
DAY 1 5-7 hrs no protection
DAY 2 Visit the doctor with third degree burns.
Repeat next month.

But if you give your skin healing time it sorts itself out.

And as I said I have used a sunblock everyday on my face for years with no problem.
Factor 50 5*

Go on you pesky aging rays. See if you can get through that!!!

I think it depends on what you would want to happen with your freckles. Our bodies respond to what we think. Specifically what we believe will happen. If you want freckles, believe you have them and will keep them. If you believe they'll fade, they will. Your body is a manifestation of your thoughts, for better or worse. So know what you want and know what you believe. (We get all kinds of inputs that we accept as beliefs without our realizing what were doing.

I spend very little time in the sun and when I do I wear long sleeves, a hat, sunglasses and
the highest sunblock I can find.
I have not lost my freckles. I happen to like being a spotted species of human.
I usually avoid the sun between 9:30AM and 5:30PM.
I also garden/putter at twilight and dawn. Or even by torchlight or moonlight.

Freckles are genetic. They dissapte with time. Sun plays a factor as well.

For some they do...for me nope..still very much here!

True. Mine will darken and I can get more if I wanted too.
However even using sun block and or staying out of the sun my freckles fade very little.

Bunnies asked great questions.... anxious to see what you write ETX!

1) Acid treatments ---- thoughts? I bought a full bottle, but geez seems too rough for such delicate skin!

2) Retinol --- Should I start using this? It's also freezing here.... wait for spring?

Thanks ! !

Retinol makes the skin thinner so more liable to sun damage.
And I think we scared our resident dermatologist off honey!
Probably me pelting questions!
Couldn't believe my luck (I secretly know all the answers but I like second opinions just so I can go Pah! You know squat!
Not really...just kidding....come back!!!!
