Have you noticed that, at social gatherings, people stay in roughly groups according to age. How do you get round this?

Pick one that you think you could spark up a conversation with and have a few questions handy. People love talking about themselves usually or current events. Often younger people are interested in and willing to older people too. Although they may not be quick to approach one because often older people are not interested in talking to young people.

Just be friendly, people pick up on that and open up.

I was at a party recently and befriended a girl my age (fellow Taurean) and we ended up talking with two old guys most of the night. It was a blast.

One of my best friends is a Cancerian woman who is 70, fourty years older than me. I swear she is an angel or possibly a future version of me who came in to help me in some very trying times. Our lives and ourselves are so similar it's spooky. We understand each other so well, too well. Without her, I would probably be a bag-lady talking to myself or yelling at the sky somewhere. I really don't know where I would be right now if she wasnt there to help me when no one else was. It's a very special friendship we have and I hope I grow up to be just like her.

So I was on the phone with her for a few hours earlier and something that alway amazes me is the connection we have humor-wise. I can't even find it with people my own age. She's as smart as a whip and alot "quicker" than most people. Sorry, I should probably just start a thread about this wonderful person. I love her.

Sounds like she is being a parent to you. You are not conversing on equal terms
