What we project onto others and what they project onto us is key. Immortalists project immortality and deathists project death.

I'd like to import this quote from the "overpopulation" thread here. It was originally posted by emitres

i think if you remove the word "almost" you would have it absolutely right... i find it astonishing that there are people in their early 30's creating "bucket lists"... wth?
and the constant chatter about growing older and making sure you have plans in place for when the time comes.... sigh
one of the reasons we want to move far far away from family - it's bloody depressing to listen to...

I have always had difficulty swallowing David Icke's reptilian theory, but the biggest argument in its favour is the way that the powers that be unleash death dealing radiation on the planet. Why would they do that since it also affects them and threatens their life? But if they are a different species, then they may be unaffected by nuclear radiation.

The earth itself is radioactive, and so are the fruits and vegetables we eat.

"All deaths are suicides, do you realize that? Every single one. The only distinction is that, with some people, suicide is a subconscious choice, and with others it's a conscious choice. Otherwise, those who commit suicide and those who succumb to accident, illness or "old age," die for exactly the same reason: belief in the inevitability of death." Linda Goodman

These things confound me. What happens when the immortalist turns fifty, looks in the mirror and notices hes aging rather quickly.

Does that happen?

Spill the beans please.

OK don't panic. You've run out of steam, that's all. You need the help of somebody else's energy. Get some help from somewhere until you get back on course.

Believing in illusory solar age is contradictory to the concept.

Why do people want to die? I beleive the biggest reason is so that they do not have to face reality. Most people go through most of their lives with their heads in the sand, including, immortalists. But eventually they must come face to face with facts of life. Death is the refuge left to them at that point.

Looking into this question, it seems there has been an enormous amount of underground excavation in recent times, so it may be that the perpetrators plan on moving underground to escape the fallout.

No alien race would want to contaminate the water supply, which undoubtedly is what makes Earth such a prize...that is presuming there are any alien races here, since the vast distances between solar systems seem to be an impossible obstacle to overcome.

Depends on who you believe. There is evidence for both sides.

There is no such thing as an isolated nuclear accident, You should know that. Nuclear radiation is all pervasive. The USA is being contaminated by radiation from Japan as we write.

I disagree. The radiation in the US from Japan is nominal.

There's a huge difference between a nuclear blast and radiation leak.

And I'm not underplaying the radiation in Japan...merely stating that by the time it reached the US, it was diluted.

Except for the location of the blast, the Hiroshima victims died over time.
