Immortality will undoubtedly be a lonely experience. Loved ones may choose not to join us on the road to eternal life. With the decline of Western civilization and the increase of war, even internet connections may become unavailable.Develop a rich inner life and a vivid imagination. Become interested in things like scientific experiments. Make friends with animals. ------------------ And I will give you the treasures of darkness, and hidden riches of secret places Isaiah 45:3 IP: Logged |

I am trying to deal with death by knowing there is no time but eternity. So if a person is with me once, they are with me always.------------------ And I will give you the treasures of darkness, and hidden riches of secret places Isaiah 45:3 IP: Logged |

You're definitely making some big decisions.Myself, I'm happy with the way it is. I don't want to live with this set of Planets forever, I want variety. So, I often don't talk with you guys about this. But I respect your decision, and your right to make it. You mention making friends with animals, but that is part of my problem. They don't have the same life-span. And it's really difficult. My Brother, that Haunts me as well. My Aunt, I watch what she goes through, with the same Pluto as Linda, and I don't suppose it gets any better with Time. I went to the other side, and to be perfectly honest with you, I Welcome It. But I live to Serve, so here I am. IP: Logged |

We're born alone, we live alone, we die alone. Only through our love and friendship can we create the illusion for the moment that we're not alone. Orson Welles“The tragedy of this world is that no one is happy, whether stuck in atime of pain or of joy. The tragedy of this world is that everyone is alone. For a life in the past cannot be shared with the present. Each person who gets stuck in time gets stuck alone.” ― Alan Lightman, Yet it is in this loneliness that the deepest activities begin. It is here that you discover act without motion, labor that is profound repose, vision in obscurity, and, beyond all desire, a fulfillment whose limits extend to infinity. Thomas Merton Suffering, failure, loneliness, sorrow, discouragement, and death will be part of your journey, but the Kingdom of God will conquer all these horrors. No evil can resist grace forever. Brennan Manning Our language has wisely sensed the two sides of being alone. It has created the word loneliness to express the pain of being alone. And it has created the word solitude to express the glory of being alone. Paul Tillich Lonliness is the human condition. Cultivate it. The way it tunnels into you allows your soul room to grow. Never expect to outgrow loneliness. Never hope to find people who will understand you, someone to fill that space. An intelligent, sensitive person is the exception, the very great exception. If you expect to find people who will understand you, you will grow murderous with disappointment. The best you'll ever do is to understand yourself, know what it is that you want, and not let the cattle stand in your way.” ― Janet Fitch, White Oleander
Solitude is the profoundest fact of the human condition. Man is the only being who knows he is alone." Octavio Paz "Remember we're all in this alone." Lily Tomli "Solitude is a condition of peace that stands in direct opposition to loneliness. Loneliness is like sitting in an empty room and being aware of the space around you. It is a condition of separateness. Solitude is becoming one with the space around you. It is a condition of union. loneliness is small, solitude is large. loneliness closes in around you; solitude expands toward the infinite. loneliness has its roots in words, in an internal conversation that nodbody answers; solitude has it's roots in the great silence of eternity." Mornin` Mak, good to see you. I love the Orson Wells quote and it quite perfectly encompass`s my beliefs: quote: We're born alone, we live alone, we die alone.
Mak: quote: So if a person is with me once, they are with me always.
While these quotes seem opposed they are , in my beliefs, completely in harmony and I find both true. ------------------ Christian, Jew, Muslim, Shaman, Zoroastrian, stone, ground, mountain, river, each has a secret way of being with the Mystery, unique and not to be judged. Rumi IP: Logged |

You'll never be lonely if you learn to befriend yourself .By three methods we may learn wisdom: First, by reflection, which is noblest; Second, by imitation, which is easiest; and third by experience, which is the bitterest. I'm concentrating on staying healthy, having peace, being happy, remembering what is important, taking in nature and animals, spending time reading, trying to understand the universe, where science and the spiritual meet. Joan Jett I can find God in nature, in animals, in birds and the environment. Pat Buckley Dont gain the world and lose your soul' wisdom is better than silver or gold. "Never mistake knowledge for wisdom. One helps you make a living; the other helps you make a life." - Sandara Carey Wisdom is timeless and doesn't change, knowledge changes over time...Ron Young Proverbs 11:30 “The fruit of the righteous is a tree of life; and he that winneth souls is wise.” Ecclesiastes 2:26 To the man who pleases him, God gives wisdom, knowledge and happiness, but to the sinner he gives the task of gathering and storing up wealth to hand it over to the one who pleases God. This too is meaningless, a chasing after the wind. Next in line, befriend an animal. “Animals are reliable, many full of love, true in their affections, predictable in their actions, grateful and loyal. Difficult standards for people to live up to.” ― Alfred A. Montapert “Dogs never bite me. Just humans.” ― Marilyn Monroe “A dog is the only thing on earth that loves you more than he loves himself.” ― Josh Billings “Heaven goes by favor. If it went by merit, you would stay out and your dog would go in.” ― Mark Twain “The dog is a gentleman; I hope to go to his heaven not man's.” ― Mark Twain “Petting, scratching, and cuddling a dog could be as soothing to the mind and heart as deep meditation and almost as good for the soul as prayer.” ― Dean Koontz, “Until one has loved an animal, a part of one's soul remains unawakened.” ― Anatole France “If you don't own a dog, at least one, there is not necessarily anything wrong with you, but there may be something wrong with your life.” ― Roger A. Caras “The dog’s agenda is simple, fathomable, overt: I want. “I want to go out, come in, eat something, lie here, play with that, kiss you. There are no ulterior motives with a dog, no mind games, no second-guessing, no complicated negotiations or bargains, and no guilt trips or grudges if a request is denied.” ― Caroline Knapp “We need another and a wiser and perhaps a more mystical concept of animals. In a world older and more complete than ours they move finished and complete, gifted with extensions of the senses we have lost or never attained, living by voices we shall never hear. They are not brethren, they are not underlings; they are other nations, caught with ourselves in the net of life and time, fellow prisoners of the splendour and travail of the earth.” ― Henry Beston “Holding this soft, small living creature in my lap this way, though, and seeing how it slept with complete trust in me, I felt a warm rush in my chest. I put my hand on the cat's chest and felt his heart beating. The pulse was faint and fast, but his heart, like mine, was ticking off the time allotted to his small body with all the restless earnestness of my own.” ― Haruki Murakami, Animals have a much better attitude to life and death than we do. They know when their time has come. We are the ones that suffer when they pass, but it's a healing kind of grief that enables us to deal with other griefs that are not so easy to grab hold of. Emmylou Harris Last but not the least is to befriend a book-Knowledge is virtue. "Knowledge rests not upon truth alone, but upon error also." - Carl Jung Knowledge is virtue, the greatest knowledge you can gain is knowledge of truth. Knowledge is a life long companion Job 12:12 “With the ancient is wisdom; and in length of days understanding.” Job 28:28 “And unto man he said, Behold, the fear of the LORD, that is wisdom; and to depart from evil is understanding.” Proverbs 14:8 “The wisdom of the prudent is to understand his way: but the folly of fools is deceit.” Ecclesiastes 7:12 “For wisdom is a defence, and money is a defence: but the excellency of knowledge is, that wisdom giveth life to them that have it.” IP: Logged |

I envy Mr. Br'er Rabbit, for his inability to utter a sound.Speech is silver but Silence is Gold! “The past screams louder than the future. The future is mute, but it’s not deaf.” ― Jarod Kintz, “There is a master way with words which is not learned but is instead developed: a deaf man develops exceptional vision, a blind man exceptional hearing, a silent man, when given a piece of paper...” ― Criss Jami, Venus in Arms “The effort of explaining, even of expressing himself, had become, with the years, more and more terrifying to him. Whether from laziness or from inability to find the right words, he had developed almost a passion for silence.” ― François Mauriac, Thérèse “The unknown grayish mystifying forest was benumbed into frost-covered cold, and the tremendous pines towering above the dark marshy soil resembled a gathering of severe mute brothers from a forbidden ancient order worshiping forgotten gods no one had ever heard of outside of the world of secret occult visions.” ― Simona Panova, Nightmarish Sacrifice “I wear glasses. They improve my hearing, Helen Keller style. And I sip coffee like a mute orator on a meteor. Drink up the deafness.” ― Jarod Kintz, I love Blue Ribbon Coffee “I want an infinitely blank book and the rest of time.” ― Jonathan Safran Foer, “But you know all about that, being sorry and having no words to say something when you know you should but you just can't” ― Heather Gudenkauf, IP: Logged |
