A Thousand Years
by: Sting (from his "Brand New Day" CD)

A thousand years, a thousand more
A thousand times a million doors to eternity
I may have lived a thousand lives, a thousand times
An endless turning stairway climbs
To a tower of souls
If it takes another thousand years, a thousand wars,
The towers rise to numberless floors in space
I could shed another million tears, a million breaths,
A million names but only one truth to face

A million roads, a million fears
A million suns, ten million years of uncertainty
I could speak a million lies, a million songs,
A million rights, a million wrongs in this balance of time
But if there was a single truth, a single light
A single thought, a singular touch of grace
Then following this single point, this single flame,
This single haunted memory of your face

I still love you
I still want you
A thousand times the mysteries unfold themselves
Like galaxies in my head

I may be numberless, I may be innocent
I may know many things, I may be ignorant
Or I could ride with kings and conquer many lands
Or win this world at cards and let it slip my hands
I could be cannon food, destroyed a thousand times
Reborn as fortune's child to judge another's crimes
Or wear this pilgrim's cloak, or be a common thief
I've kept this single faith, I have but one belief

I still love you
I still want you
A thousand times these mysteries unfold themselves
Like galaxies in my head

On and on the mysteries unwind themselves
Eternities still unsaid
'Til you love me

Science is presently concerned only with the material forces, failing to recognize the Spiritual Forces. Yet, what is a material force but the visible manifestation of the Spiritual Force behind it? To accept the material manifestation and deny the Spiritual Force that creates and controls it is to place yourself in the illogical position of accepting an effect--and denying its cause.

WOW, Randall!

I never cared much for Sting's music; the one that goes "if i ever lose my faith in you..." haunted me something terrible in boot camp. Now i kinda wonder about that guy...

Sounds like Sting is tuned into somethig extra special

Maybe Pappy slipped into ones of his dreams and shared a few 'secrets'....

I think so too. I never cared much for Sting either, but that just almost brought me to tears. Amazingly beautiful! I'm shocked.

I like Sting alot. As a person, and not necessarily his music.
He is a very adept Yogi, and a very spiritual person. He also used to be a school teacher
His music did catch my attention though, about a year ago. I saw the Imax film "Dolphins". Sting did the music for it. It was all instrumental, and it was absolutely beautiful! So much more beautiful than his music that is on the radio.

Sting has written some awesome lyrics, and beautiful melodies...

Chandra~ thanks for sharing that about Sting... I love hearing that someone whom has a gift I admire, or a celebrity, is also a *good person*

I always have! You must be confusing me with my alternate from a parallel Uni-verse.

Awesome song!! Sting has always been one of my favourite lyricists.

Nephthys: Randall (please correct me if I am wrong), like myself, has always believed in reincarnation but (also like myself) believes that it is a tool that has served it's purpose to elevate our spirits to the point where we no longer need to reincarnate and can now keep this incarnation alive indefinately. Some spirits have not yet reached this level and must come back a few more times.
