Aaaack! Sure you wanna see it, proxieme? LOL You're adorable, btw, great smile, very mischievous, and by that I mean in a playful way. I'll give it a go later on, see if I'm able to post one! And I must say it is very cool to be able to see so many of the folks here...and to notice how many have such clear, glowy complexions. Has anyone else noticed that? I just peeked through again, and really, there is such a great light on so many of the faces!

I just wanna say to Oxy and N_w thanks for posting that picture. It's so cool to see actual evidence of the wonder of the internet and to see people from here meeting each other.Did you have a good time Oxychic? Did you catch any of the sun while you were in England? It's really beautiful here at the moment,it's spring and all the flowers are out and the trees are in blossom and we've got full on summer sunbathing weather a lot of days at the momentIP: Logged |

I caught the sun AND I was a tad tipsy. Yes, Mazz, the weather was BEAUTIFUL! So sunny in fact, that I had a bit of a sunburn. My friend and I got some beautiful pictures in Hyde Park and by the water and by the Parliament....and ugh....I'm back in smelly ol' NYC...although I have to admit the people generally weren't nicer than in NY (and that's saying a lot!) The third day was quite cold (Saturday) and windy, but I still had a blast. IP: Logged |

They weren't nicer than in NY? C'mon Oxy - I thought that Londoners were some of the nicest people I've ever met.IP: Logged |

Well, obviously, my perception is limited, but nope...and I was shocked by it. Even service workers were generally unfriendly...And yes, some were very nice. I'm just used to people smiling back when I have an exchange with them...be it in a store or in a hotel or wherever...not in London though! (ok, drunk men at the bar excluded) IP: Logged |

re: drunk men at the bar. Did you have this happen:Intoxicated Londoner: "Uren dephe monearpa..." You: "What?" IL: "Uren dephe monerapa..." Y: "I'm sorry; I can't understand you..." IL: "Ina yurtiz rachmoy." Y: "Huh? That can't be English...I thought you people invented the language." I swear to gourd, I couldn't understand a single drunk English guy. If you want real fun, try comprehending a drunken Scot. To be fair, though, my accent's worse when I've had a few, too - but I just become a loud arse Southerner. Re: smiling back: Brits are just generally a bit more reserved. It's all part of their charm tril - 'Sup, 'sup Good to see ya up there Another loverly LLer. I'm going to go back to not writing and not studying now.

D-you mean a light spot from the camera flash?Proxy-I had a hard enough time understanding sober Brits. I speak pretty quickly myself, usually. And often times my brain and my mouth work at different paces, so I trail off in mid-sentence. The Gemini friend who went with me just skips words when she speaks. I've been told repeatedly that i don;t have a NY accent... IP: Logged |

Suuuuuuure ya don't N_w. >falls down on futon in peals of laughter< >rolls off of futon< (at least it's not a far fall) >continues laughing... still laughing... laughing... oh, wait, wait... no...no, still laughing...< >wipes tears of mirth away< Don't deny your accent - British accents are won-der-ful, and you were prolly perfectly understandable... it's just that some British guys are completely unintelligible when they're drunk and trying to hit on an American chick. Not you though. Wait...wait... Oh, OK...I held back the giggles this time. IP: Logged |

Thanks for the kind words... Mercy, would love to see your pics from Dublin. Ireland is my 1st destination choice, if I could just pick a place to go spend some time. What a beautiful place. Ya know, I have a dear friend who is a native of Ireland, and he hates Guiness! Insists on drinking imports, like something called Staroperaman (sp??) that is Czech. And he never ate peanut butter, till I gave him some peanut butter chocolates (and he fell in love)!IP: Logged |
