Spiritua, just FYI The original version of "I Will Always Love You" was sung by Dolly Parton, from a movie called The Best Little Whorehouse in Texas IP: Logged |

I bought a Dolly CD just for that song. She sings it so much better than Whitney--almost as if she is actually singing it to a person she Loves and has to let go. It's so sad to hear it sung the way Dolly does it. ------------------ "Never mentally imagine for another that which you would not want to experience for yourself, since the mental image you send out inevitably comes back to you." Randall,I absolutely AGREE with you about the Dolly Parton song!! When I heard Whitney Houston's version (though I normally appreciate her singing) I did NOT like it at all. I, too, bought a CD to get that song, along with the one called "He's Alive". Are you familiar with it? Gives me goosebumps everytime I hear it. IP: Logged |

Re: "He's Alive"Dolly tells the story of the first Easter Morning from the perspective of Peter, as though she's him. I first saw this in video on the VH1 channel. Between her voice, the visual and the music building to its spectacular climax, the tears were rolling down my face as it ended. It's a BEAUTIFUL and inspiring song; do listen to it if you get the chance. IP: Logged |
